    ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

    Colorado Youth for a Change (CYC) is an educational nonprofit organization with a statewide scope. CYC addresses barriers to learning by providing individualized support throughout pivotal stages of students' education journeys. We provide a continuum of services from Prekindergarten through high school to help students find success through tutoring, case management, and outreach to help in-school youth remain in school or out-of-school youth return to school. We envision an equitable education system where each student has access to resources they need to maximize their own learning and growth.     DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

    The Development Department is responsible for raising awareness and resources for CYC to sustain and grow programming. Diversified revenue streams include grants, events, individual and corporate donors, and fee-for-service in partnership with schools and districts.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Manager of Corporate and Individual Giving will lead efforts in corporate and individual donor prospecting, sponsorship, tracking, and stewardship. Responsibilities include individual giving inclusive of major and planned gifts; building relationships with and soliciting corporate partners; support in planning and executing events through the supervision of the Development Coordinator; managing relationships and reporting through Salesforce. This position is full-time, Denver-based, with a salary of $65,000 with benefits.

    Essential Functions

    Corporate Partnership Development and Management

    • Identify prospective partners who are aligned with CYC's mission and vision.
    • Cultivate and manage corporate relationships through sponsorships, engagement, and volunteerism.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing Coordinator to create compelling fundraising materials and campaigns.
    • Prepare year-round partnership proposals to corporations and corporate foundations.
    • Utilize Salesforce to track relationships and funding tied to corporate partners and to support organizational budget development.
    • Manage matching gift opportunities in partnership with corporations when applicable.

    Individual Giving

    • Develop and manage a portfolio of individual donors and major gift or planned giving prospects.
    • Develop and execute strategy to identify, cultivate, and solicit qualified prospects for both major and planned gifts.
    • Create and maintain relationships with individual donors through meetings, site visits, house parties, and direct personal communication.
    • Partner with Executive Director to arrange donor and prospect meetings for cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation.
    • Partner with Development Coordinator and Marketing Coordinator on donor appeals by mail or email and support the drafting of donor appeals.
    • Utilize Salesforce to manage donor portfolio year over year and to support organizational budget development.

    Special Events

    • Support the Development Associate with the planning and execution of 1-2 special events each year including signature Back to School Night.
    • Work with the Board of Directors and Development Committee to solicit sponsorships, promote the event, and gather live auction donations.

    Supervision and Leadership

    • Supervise full-time Development Coordinator who supports events, grant reporting, Salesforce, and corporate engagement.
    • Help lead and recruit for the Development Committee which acts as a subset of the Board of Directors and meets every other month.
    • Engage in community meetings and events to help raise awareness and resources for the organization.
    • Participate as member of the Management team within the organization through monthly meetings to support organizational strategy, operations, and program evaluation.

      • Support and evaluate your team to develop and meet goals around anti-oppression work.

    Other Duties

    • Attend and participate in staff meetings as required.
    • Speak on behalf of the organization when appropriate.
    • Attend relevant community and school meetings.
    • Run errands as needed using personal transportation.
    • Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned.
    • Complete required training courses as assigned by CYC.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Self-directed and able to effectively work independently to meet deadlines.
    • Work collaboratively with internal staff and external partners.
    • Excellent attention to detail, ability to be highly organized, and work under pressure to manage multiple deadlines.
    • Contribute to a positive morale.
    • Appreciation of clear and appropriate boundaries with youth, AmeriCorps members, and staff.
    • A passionate and committed belief that students deserve access to quality education resources and support.
    • Dependable transportation and insurable as a driver on the auto liability policy of Colorado Youth for a Change.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Five years of nonprofit fundraising experience, management experience preferred.
    • Proven record of growing revenue.
    • Three years of event management and execution.
