    Descrição

Pioneers Baccalaureate School, located in the vibrant city of Nablus, Palestine, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our summer camp team for an exciting opportunity to work with first-grade students as they prepare to transition into a formal school environment. As part of our mission to provide high-quality education in Palestine, we are committed to helping our students build strong foundational skills for their future academic success.

    About Pioneers Baccalaureate School

Pioneers is a bilingual Arabic/English school serving Grades K-12. We are proud to have received NEASC accreditation in Spring 2021, and we are focused on continual development and innovation. Our rich international program follows Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards in English, Math, and Science, in addition to offering the local Palestinian curriculum. High school students receive a Pioneers diploma in addition to a Palestinian diploma obtained through equivalent scores on CLEP or AP exams.

Pioneers Baccalaureate School was founded to provide a level of education unavailable in Nablus. We challenge and inspire our students to achieve their intellectual and personal potential by approaching each as a unique individual. Utilizing the best of modern pedagogy, while staying true to our Palestinian roots, Pioneers prepares students to be competitive on a global scale. Our graduates will be prepared to innovate, think creatively, and contribute to building a better Palestine and a better world. For more information, visit our website at www.pioneers.ps.

We are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for our students while promoting a well-rounded education. Our summer camp program for incoming first graders is designed to help children improve their English language skills, develop social-emotional competencies, and engage in fun and educational activities to prepare them for the school year ahead.

    Position Overview

As a Summer Camp Instructor, you will work with a group of 20 incoming first graders, guiding them through daily activities that focus on English language skills, social-emotional growth, motor and cognitive development, and developing an understanding of school routines and expectations. You will lead independent play stations, read-aloud sessions, and circle time activities in a dynamic and supportive environment. While the camp is designed to develop important skills, we also aim to make learning enjoyable, and we encourage instructors to bring their creativity and ideas to enhance the camp experience with games, songs, and multisensory activities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and guide approximately 20 students through structured activities that promote learning and development.
    • Support students in building their English language skills, especially school-related vocabulary.
    • Facilitate circle time, read-aloud sessions, and learning stations designed to build motor and cognitive skills.
    • Encourage positive social interactions and help children develop social-emotional skills.
    • Help students adjust to school routines and develop behaviors needed for a successful first-grade experience.
    • Work collaboratively with a co-instructor and camp staff to create an inclusive, supportive, and joyful atmosphere.
    • Bring new ideas to enhance activities, making learning interactive and exciting.

    Program Details:

    • Duration: June 15 - July 24, 2025
    • Training: First week of June (staff must arrive for training).
    • Schedule: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday (with afternoons and weekends free for exploring Nablus and engaging in cultural excursions).
    • Possibility for full-time teaching position for interested candidates.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
    • Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about working with young children.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
    • A proactive, flexible, and creative mindset.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Background in early childhood education or experience working with young children, particularly those learning English as a second language.
    • Experience in teaching reading, language development, or literacy skills to young learners.
    • Familiarity with social-emotional learning practices and child development.
    • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs.

    Compensation:

    • 3,000 NIS stipend for the duration of the program.
    • Shared accommodation (private room).
    • Partial airfare reimbursement.

    About Nablus:

With around 300,000 people, Nablus is one of the largest cities in the West Bank. Instructors are able to form lasting relationships with colleagues and friends, take advantage of opportunities to learn or practice Arabic, and travel on weekend breaks to explore all the West Bank has to offer. Nablus is still a conservative city with respect to the West Bank as a whole, and in order to maintain the school's good reputation and standing in the community, foreign instructors are expected to uphold certain standards of behavior and dress during their tenure with the school.

    How to Apply:

Interested candidates should send their resume and a cover letter outlining their experience and interest in the position to jobs@pioneers.edu.ps. Please highlight any relevant experience in early childhood education, teaching, or working with young children.

We look forward to welcoming energetic, passionate individuals who are excited to make a positive impact on the lives of young learners in Palestine!
