    The Staten Island YMCA Counseling Services is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist. Under the supervision of the Executive Director and Senior Program Director with the assistance of the Quality Assurance Coordinator, the Quality Assurance Specialist will assist with front desk operations and with ensuring the quality and compliance of all record keeping and documentation. They will be responsible for assisting with ensuring that the program meets all applicable laws, regulations, and reporting/grant requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct quality assurance and utilization review audits on active and discharged charts to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines, including, but not limited to, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, OASAS, and OMIG.
    • Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets to ensure that all clinical and administrative documentation is timely, comprehensive, accurate, and in compliance with laws, regulations, and guidelines.
    • Maintain tracking spreadsheets to ensure that all applicable policies and procedures are maintained (e.g., prescriber scheduling, outreach, and engagement).
    • Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of monthly service delivery and census reports.
    • Assist in preparing and reconciling required reports to funders and other oversight agencies.
    • Prepare clinical records for admission and discharge.
    • Assist in the maintenance of discharge record tracking and filing.
    • In collaboration with the clinical team, coordinate client record requests.
    • In collaboration with the clinical team, assist with requests for information from external sources to support service delivery.
    • Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining staff training procedures.
    • Attend meetings, supervision, and training as required.
    • Provide a high degree of member service through professional relationships with clients and guests.
    • Conduct phone call triage and management.
    • Assist with fee collection, financial and clinical data entry, and chart management (i.e., scanning).

    Desired Skills & Experience:

    • CASAC-T, CASAC Provisional, or CASAC (any level) required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services required.
    • MHC, MSW, MFT, MHC-LP, MSW-LP, MFT-LP, LMSW, LMHC, LCSW preferred. Master’s Degree in Human Services preferred.
    • Minimum of one (1) year working in the substance use/human services field.
    • Knowledge of mental health, CBT, and other evidence-based treatment modalities.
    • Knowledge of privacy regulations/laws and compliance with laws, regulations, and guidelines.
    • Excellent Microsoft Suite skills, specifically Excel.
