Program Manager

Girl Vow is seeking a Program Manager to support our Executive Director with the day-to-day operations and management of programs designed to address the gender specifics needs of disadvantaged girls, femmes, and gender-expansive youth in New York City. This position is responsible for overseeing the organization’s programming, driving growth initiatives, and ensuring services are effectively delivered. The ideal candidate will have experience managing programs, a passion for social justice, and the ability to work collaboratively to expand the organization’s reach and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and grow programs designed to support youth impacted by the justice system.
• Develop and refine program strategies to meet the needs of participants, including court-ordered counseling, mentorship, life skills training, and re-entry support.
• Monitor the effectiveness of programs and ensure services align with Girl Vow’s mission and goals.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to create innovative initiatives that address emerging needs in the community.
• Assist the Executive Director in managing day-to-day operations, including administrative tasks and organizational oversight.
• Develop and manage program budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director and other organizational leaders.
• Coordinate program schedules, staff assignments, and participant activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Supervise program staff and volunteers, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
• Ensure that the workplace is a collaborative and supportive environment, allowing team members to thrive.
• Develop and conduct training for staff and volunteers.
• Build and maintain partnerships with social service organizations, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to expand program reach.
• Represent and advocate for Girl Vow at community events, forums, and coalitions.
• Develop processes to gather feedback from participants and incorporate their voices into program design and evaluation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, with a focus on youth or populations impacted by the justice system.
• Proven success in managing programs and leading teams within a non-profit environment.
• Experience working with young females impacted by the criminal justice system
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and best practices.
• Ability to develop and evaluate programs, monitor budgets, and write reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools.
