Terms of Employment: 40 hours per week
Reports to: Executive Director
Position Location: Remote - Global south natives and/or inhabitants are preferred. Residing in a time zone that allows frequent interactions with Southeast Asia is preferred.
Remuneration: To be defined according to location and experience
Language requirement: Fluent English
About Sinergia Animal
Rated as one of the world’s most effective animal protection organizations by Animal Charity Evaluators, Sinergia Animal is an international campaigning organization working in countries of the Global South (specifically Latin America and Southeast Asia) to reduce animal suffering and promote more compassionate food choices.
We use negotiations, investigations, peaceful direct actions, and innovative campaigning methods to expose the suffering of farmed animals and to help build a world in which no animals are exploited for food.
About the position
This is an exciting position for someone who has significant experience in in-depth research, investigative journalism, pre- and post-production of films and documentaries, and especially in undercover investigations carried out by media outlets or NGOs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth online research to plan investigations in several different countries, with a special focus in Southeast Asia.
- Manage the audiovisual manager and ensure high quality of materials.
- Hire and train freelancers (experienced or not) and specialized agencies to carry out fieldwork and produce impactful and high-quality images.
- Approve budgets and control expenses reported by outsourced service providers involved in projects.
- Prepare briefings and legal reviews with the help of lawyers from each country.
- Produce video scripts and promotional texts.
Requirements
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Excellent research, project coordination, and budget-oversight skills
- Solid experience in audiovisual work, investigative journalism, or equivalent/similar work.
- Expertise in fact-checking and accuracy,
- Good knowledge in text production and online and media dissemination strategies.
