    Descrição

Are you someone who has worked in schools and found yourself imagining how they could be more equitable, humanizing, and holistic? Have you seen the challenges within school systems and thought deeply about how they could be transformed—not just incrementally, but fundamentally?

This role is not about managing the day-to-day operations of a school or district. Instead, it's an opportunity to reimagine what’s possible.

We're looking for a passionate, visionary leader who believes that Savannah’s schools can and should be spaces where every student, educator, and community member feels valued and respected. As the Associate Director, you’ll have the unique opportunity to lead transformative work with a high degree of autonomy—while being supported by a dynamic team of educators, community leaders, and equity practitioners.

You won’t be alone in this. You’ll have the backing of local organizations committed to joy, creative expression, and the power of strong relationships as tools for systemic change.

    The ideal candidate is:

    • A nimble and creative problem-solver.
    • Grounded in a deep sense of why, but flexible in the how.
    • Skilled in leading collaboratively and building on the strengths of others.
    • Committed to equity-centered, community-driven approaches to education.

This isn’t just a job—it’s a chance to help redefine what healing and justice can look like in schools.

    Essential Duties

    Relationships

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders

Effectively communicate principles and practices of restorative school climate and culture

Represent Deep Center in local coalitions and stakeholder meetings

    Technical Assistance

Serve as a content-area expert on developing restorative school culture

Proactively identify opportunities to collaborate with school personnel on school-based initiatives

Develop tools, templates, and resources to promote restorative educational practices.

Design and facilitate professional learning and community-building for educators

    Program Planning and Management

Develop comprehensive project plans with clearly defined goals and timelines

Collect program evaluation and impact data

    Reporting & Supervision

This position reports directly to the Director of Restorative Practices and Culture and does not currently have any supervisory responsibilities.

    Qualifications

    • 3 + years of professional experience in a public K-12 educational context
    • 1 + year of experience facilitating professional learning and community-building activities with adults
    • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of curriculum design or program planning
    • Ability to independently make decisions aligned to a values-based mission and responsive to unique contexts
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Commitment to Deep Center’s culture of collaboration, inclusivity, openness, and mutual respect; and to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Aren’t sure if you meet every single requirement? We encourage you to apply if you think you would be a good fit, even if you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications. At Deep Center, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and equity-driven workplace. So if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
