    Agency Description & Program Model:

    At HER Resiliency Center (HER), we provide young women ages 18 to 25, overcoming various forms of hardships, a safe environment where they can receive the support, skills, and resources needed to make positive decisions and thrive.

    HER emphasizes each young woman being aware of her own needs, while also receiving guidance along her journey to independence and self-sufficiency. An important component of the HER model is allowing space for the young women to share about her own life experiences, hear about the path of others, and learn positive life skills through demonstrated healthy living.

    A crucial component of the HER model is for staff to share their own past struggles and victories in order to demonstrate empathy and understanding toward those we serve. Both staff and the young women are on a “peer level” with each other. This position requires an understanding of trauma and being available to attend necessary training to ensure this competency.

    Job Summary:

    The DC Program Manager directly oversees a dynamic team of direct service professionals and is responsible for providing management that mirrors the mission, vision, and guiding principles of the organization. This position reports to the President.

    The role of the Program Manager is both challenging and highly rewarding. The ideal candidate is a clear communicator, strategic minded, a systems thinker and can execute a plan. The Program Manager will have excellent people and program management skills, and an exemplary work ethic. To ensure the fidelity of our model, the Program Manager will provide direct support to up to 5 young women for the first six months. This position requires some evenings and weekends and the ability to be on-call on a rotating scheduled basis. This is an in person full time position. The work cannot be done remotely.

    Performance Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the President, and Program team in DC and Baltimore to meet established goals for HER’s delivery of services and develop program assessment tools for evaluation and improvement.
    • Lead and work with both direct service providers and senior leadership to ensure adherence to the program model and guarantee delivery of expected program outcomes.
    • Assist in building partnerships with other similarly missioned efforts/enterprises in support of creating a networked ecosystem for young adult women.
    • Work with the President to ensure accuracy and timeliness of record keeping in support of delivering HER’s programs.
    • Oversee the program execution of federal and state reimbursable grant awards – identifies key requirements, processes deadlines, and tracks milestones. Ensure that services are delivered compassionately and effectively and meet the guidelines of the awards.
    • Communicate with the President, other managers and staff to resolve issues and conflicts and be comfortable with transparent exchange of information within the team.
    • Assist with formal review and evaluation of direct reports at least annually.
    • Conduct regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings with all direct reports.
    • Ensure that all program operations are executed with the highest possible efficiency.
    • Write and submit reports to the President on all matters of importance.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Communication & Reporting:

    • Ensure all program notes and service deliveries are recorded in HER’s internal database within twenty-four hours of service delivery.
    • Assure accuracy and completeness of all information in HER’s program database to allow production of timely and accurate reports for funders and program oversight.
    • Ensure confidentiality is practiced throughout all HER’s programs.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Project management experience is ideal.
    • 3 years of management experience.
    • Passion for the mission of HER Resiliency Center, and the empowerment of all women.
    • Experience leading, developing and supporting a staff of high-performing, results-oriented individuals.
    • Possess a growth mindset.

    • Remain flexible in adapting to the changing demands of a new non-profit agency.
    • Willingness to bring creative ideas to meet the needs of the young women we serve.
