About Us
As the JVP family of organizations, we are growing, developing and mobilizing a powerful grassroots, multiracial base of Jews toward Palestinian freedom and the end of Israeli apartheid and occupation. As a family of organizations, we have JVP, a 501(c)(3) organization; JVP Action, a 501(c)(4) organization, and JVP Action PAC.
About You
You’re an experienced movement fundraiser ideally with two years of experience managing fundraisers or staff, and are comfortable working with donors across giving levels. You see organizing and fundraising as two sides of the same coin. You want to bring your expertise to the table to build a robust fundraising program that deepens relationships with donors while also developing resource mobilization skills among fundraisers consisting of staff, board members, and volunteers. You’re committed to ensuring the movement for Palestinian liberation is fully funded by people deeply invested in this work. You’re just as comfortable getting in the weeds on a spreadsheet as you are jumping on a call with a donor or coaching a staff person in crafting a pitch. You enjoy thinking big picture about how various moving pieces all fit together.
About the program
JVP’s fundraising model integrates fundraising, organizing, and strategic communications. Roughly 85% of our income comes from individual people — our average donation is $60, our most common donation is $18. We are an organization funded by our membership. From member-to-member phone banks to seasoned volunteer donor organizers holding major gift portfolios, JVP members actively participate throughout our entire fundraising program.
About the role
This role oversees multiple components of JVP’s Individual Donor Engagement Program. They manage staff, build robust relationships with donors, oversee discrete programs, and support member-fundraiser involvement across all giving levels. The person in this role must be able to effectively manage timelines, and have experience working with staff, board, and volunteers alike.
The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded fundraiser, possess strong project management skills, and will be someone who understands how to activate and engage donors across multiple platforms appropriate to the donor's giving tier. Candidates should possess a depth of knowledge and experience in fundraising and organizing grounded in grassroots, social justice movements.
This position will also heavily contribute to the overall visioning of the JVP family of organizations’ fundraising strategy and will have opportunities to innovate to grow the movement at large. The Senior Manager of Donor Engagement will report directly to the Development Director.
