    Descrição

Pennsylvania Policy Center, the state’s leading progressive public policy organization, is looking for a regional organizer to oversee its policy analysis and policy development program. The organization is focused on ensuring that all Pennsylvanians can thrive by promoting public policies that support broadly shared prosperity and that break down the barriers of class, race, gender, and ethnicity to individual, familial, and community well-being.

The Pennsylvania Policy Center uses its expertise in research and policy development to create the tools that political officials, opinion leaders, grassroots organizations, and the people of Pennsylvania need to expand our vibrant democracy, secure our freedom, and seek economic justice in Pennsylvania. Our work, and that of our advocacy campaign, Pennsylvanians Together, is rooted in outreach to Pennsylvanians at the grassroots level to learn about their concerns and in robust and credible public policy research and analysis that identifies the sources of these problems and proposes solutions. These tools enable Pennsylvanians who share our ideals to make their voices heard.

We are looking for political organizers who can help to engage with community members and activate them to participate in actions to stop the Trump Administrations worst policies.

This is a part time contract position based in the Western Pennsylvania region and NE Pennsylvania region. Organizers will be paid a monthly contracted amount. This contract will be for six months with potential for renewal.

    Responsibilities:

    • Organizing educational events to promote the Federal Fight Back campaign to stop cuts to critical social safety net programs.
    • Convening, participating and supporting external stakeholder activities in the community to build power especially in communities of color, and to win economic justice for the prosperity of all Pennsylvanians.
    • Ability to track, manage, and effectively complete multiple projects, spreadsheets and meet multiple deadlines.
    • Administrative capacity: attend weekly and monthly meetings. Complete time sheets and work and media tracker.
    • Produce frequent and engaging content across various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, and coordinate with communications team on messaging.

We’re seeking candidates who excel in relationship-building, are results-oriented, are excellent problem solvers, and have strong project management skills.

    • Cultural competence in communicating with diverse communities
    • Ability to represent Pennsylvanians Together at meetings and public events
