    Position: Staff Accountant

    The Staff Accountant is a part-time, temporary position covering for an employee on parental leave that reports to the Director of Finance and Capital Operations. The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial information for the organization in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The expected duration of the role is up to 4 months, with a start date on or around May 19, 2025. We anticipate the Staff Accountant working between 10 and 15 hours per week during normal business hours. While the position is not permanent, it offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to A4CB’s mission and to gain valuable experience in the Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) field.

    Essential Duties

    • Manage daily accounting tasks and review financial data used for decision making
    • Manage risk for the organization by executing sound policies, procedures, and reporting for accounting, compliance, and general operations
    • Perform complex accounting and other duties flexibly and creatively as needs arise

    Detailed Responsibilities

    • Prepare deposits and bank reconciliations
    • Process and reconcile company credit card and Dash prepaid card transactions
    • Prepare general ledger transactions and imports for Cash transfers, bank interest, payroll, dash cards and grants
    • Record and track account receivables/revenue with the appropriate restriction and reconcile against fundraising system totals, in support of other team members
    • Provide financial analysis and support to A4CB leadership
    • Download loan servicer reports on a weekly basis and use them to create monthly reports
    • Create monthly cash transaction reports for various loan funding sources
    • Complete UCC and title releases
    • Manage Account Payables, process invoices, and review coding submitted by staff including debt obligations
    • Work from the A4CB office each Wednesday and on other days as agreed upon with the Director of Finance and Capital Operations
    • Perform other duties flexibly and creatively as needs arise

    The Staff Accountant should have:

    • A bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or commensurate experience
    • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles
    • Two years of related (Accounts Payable) experience
    • A familiarity working with account software/platform (including Sage Intacct, our current system)
    • Strong MS Excel skills
    • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • A desire to grow professionally and an interest in learning and taking on additional responsibilities

    Loan accounting, loan servicing, and/or loan operations experience preferred.
