    Description

BACKGROUND: The California Volunteers Fund (CV Fund) exists to support the priorities and activities of California Volunteers, a department of the Office of the Governor of California. The CV Fund is an independent, nonprofit and registered public charity which serves as a bridge for public private partnerships that support engaging all Californians to come together to revitalize local communities across the state through service and civic engagement. California Volunteers oversees a number of important California Service Corps programs including #CaliforniansForAll College Corps, the California Climate Action Corps (CCAC), the Youth Service Corps, and AmeriCorps California.

OUR GOAL: Corps to Career (C2C) was created with a goal to provide California Service Corps members and alumni post-fellowship access to the next step on their career journey in a career pathway of their choice with opportunities for upward mobility. Our initial focus has been #CaliforniansForAll College Corps–specifically LA-based Fellows and alumni from CSU Dominguez Hills, CSU Los Angeles, CSU Long Beach, Cal Poly Pomona, and UCLA–and CCAC Fellows. This year we expanded to all community colleges in LA and Youth Service Corps in the Mayor’s offices of LA and Long Beach. Our ultimate vision is to build a model that will expand to support California Service Corps alumni transition from Corps to Career across California, serving as a potential model for the nation. Together, we will create more equitable workforce opportunities for those who are traditionally underserved, build a workforce pipeline that represents California, and tackle our state's most pressing challenges, while mobilizing all Californians to serve their communities. ROLE DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as the Corps to Career Alumni Engagement Manager. In this position, you will play a critical role in supporting CA Service Corps alumni to secure their first career placement post-fellowship and increase the number of alumni with confirmed full-time placement in a job, fellowship, or continuing education opportunity. This role will require flexibility as Corps to Career is currently in its pilot phase and may evolve to include additional duties or shifting priorities.

The role is focused on enhancing our current alumni engagement efforts to support Corps to Career in meeting our placement goals and other related benchmarks. This role is primarily focused on transitioning members from Corps to Career and critical to our goal of supporting our alumni transition into a career pathway, and ultimately secure and track a post-service career placement, while being able to share the impact of Corps to Career on alumni. We are looking for someone strong in implementation and execution to increase alumni participation in strategic events, connect alumni with employer partners, implement strategic communication to ensure effectiveness and engagement in alumni-related events, and strengthen alumni access to critical opportunities and resources.

This position reports directly to the Corps to Career Program Director with a high degree of collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer and the Director of Workforce. This role will also interact with the CV Fund’s CEO, as well as other members of the CV Fund and CV Team. This role is expected to work both independently and collaboratively with a team of key internal and external stakeholders.

      2. Support less responsive alumni on follow-through: Work in partnership with staff, employer partners and program leads to ensure commitments are fulfilled to maintain partnerships benefiting C2C alumni.
    4. Program Quality and Career Access for Alumni (10-15%):
      1. Provide feedback to the Program team to improve quality of the Corps to Career program, which may include conducting alumni focus groups, outreach, and analysis of informal data and survey feedback.
