    Ayuda is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing direct legal, social and language access services, education, and outreach to low-income immigrants in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Since 1973, Ayuda has provided critical services on a wide range of issues, in the process acquiring nationally recognized expertise in several fields including immigration law, language access, domestic violence and human trafficking. Ayuda has office locations in Washington, DC, Silver Spring, MD and Fairfax, VA.

    WHAT WILL THIS JOB ENTAIL?

    Core responsibilities of the position include the following.

    General:

    • Supervise, train and develop Program Finance Specialists.
    • Liaise between Finance and Program and Departmental Directors and provide decision support and performance monitoring to support Ayuda’s sustainable growth and safeguard Ayuda from organizational risk.

    Financial Planning & Analysis:

    • Support the Finance Director and the senior leadership team in the annual planning and budgeting process.
    • Oversee resource planning system administration and review budgets and resource planning information entered into the system.
    • Contribute to the monthly and quarterly internal financial/management reporting, and review process.
    • Construct various internal reports and data visualizations for both monthly and quarterly reporting and ad-hoc reporting.
    • Build ad-hoc financial models and analytics for decision support.

    Program Finance:

    • Works in collaboration with the Grants team and the Program team to support Finance-related activities – including budgeting and financial compliance review – of the pre-award phase of the grant and contract cycle.
    • Provides monthly reports, analyses and forecasts – such as monitoring budget vs. actual analyses, staffing plans, utilization, project overruns, internal allocations, and other financial indicators – to assist Grant leads and Program leadership in understanding financial aspects of the grants and contracts and to support Grant leads and Program leadership in course corrections.
    • Collaborate with the Grants team, the Finance team, and the Program teams to provide other financial management, compliance and other support at the grant and contract level.

    HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU CAN DO THIS JOB?

    Eligibility: Must be legally able to work in the United States and maintain proper work authorization throughout employment. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position presented in a general office environment.

    Education/Experience/Skills:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required. MBA or CPA preferred.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
    • Experience with government grants and contracts in the nonprofit sector.
    • Management Experience: 3 years of supervisory or management experience.

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Ability to develop project plans.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in collaboration, facilitation, planning, problem solving, leadership.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable.
    • Ability to work on a team.
