    Descrição

SHARE Cancer Support is a national nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides critical support for the emotional and practical challenges that come with a diagnosis of breast or gynecologic cancer, while also delivering life-saving information about signs, symptoms, and screenings through on-the-ground community education. Established in 1976, SHARE is committed to serving people of all races, cultures, backgrounds, and identities.

SHARE’s dedicated staff and volunteers—many of whom have faced their own diagnoses—understand the needs of the diverse communities we serve. We provide a comprehensive range of services in multiple languages, free of charge. We approach every situation with deep empathy, and every voice is welcome, valued, and heard. Our goal is to ensure that everyone has access to the support and information they need to feel connected, informed, and empowered as healthcare consumers because no one should face cancer alone.

    Vice President, Development

Reporting to the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (ED/CEO), the VP of Development (VP) serves as a key leadership team member responsible for developing an overarching strategy that reflects the organization’s strategic goals for the future and capitalizes on current funding trends, while leveraging existing organizational capabilities and resources. In partnership with the ED/CEO, this position is responsible for overseeing all fundraising and development activities. The successful candidate will build collaborative relationships with existing funders and forge new relationships to build SHARE's visibility, impact, and financial resources. The VP of Development will also design and implement a comprehensive plan for developing key external alliances by cultivating individual and philanthropic support.

The VP will have primary responsibility for establishing and implementing the infrastructure needed to sustain and grow a $4.5 million budget through the solicitation of major gifts, city and state grants, special events, and corporate and foundation support. They will expand and diversify SHARE’s donor base/pipeline and work closely with other team members to secure funding for new initiatives. In addition, the VP will work closely with the board of directors and support board members as they take on a more active fundraising role.

The VP will directly supervise an Associate Director of Development and a Director of Administration and Data Reporting. The VP will strengthen and steward the development team to execute the needs and opportunities now and in the future, and effectively strengthen SHARE’s overall fundraising capacity.
