Development of Mobile Application

Scope of Work:

1. UI/UX Development
   1. Keeping in mind that the App has already been piloted once, Girl Rising can share existing wireframes, other relevant details which the App development team can leverage.
   2. Refine and improve the App’s UX, ensuring it is intuitive and accessible for regions with limited internet access in India.
   3. Design an engaging and user-friendly UI keeping in mind the target audience (Underprivileged adolescents between the ages of 14-18 years).
2. Backend Development and Maintenance
   1. Address issues related to app crashes and performance, ensuring the app is compatible across all phone models (Oppo, Honor, Samsung, Realme, Redmi etc.) used by the low-income communities of India.
   2. Develop an easy-to-understand, sustainable backend system to manage content.
   3. Update the App to latest compatibility formats and ensure it is frequently updated based on available features on Android.
   4. Ensure the backend is scalable to handle a growing number of users without slowing down the Application.
   5. Adapt the app for use in other Girl Rising geographies such as Kenya, Guatemala etc
3. Enhancing Functionality
   1. Include user profiles so that adolescents can work towards developing their own digital identities on the App
   2. Navigating the App needs to be easy and seamless to make it easy for new digital media users
   3. Enable long-form video uploads to accommodate the App’s implementation in alignment with Girl Rising’s storytelling curriculum.
   4. Develop a robust video upload and management system for users and all stakeholders.
4. Gamification and Interactive Learning
   1. Integrate games and activities from Girl Rising’s existing curriculum (which is implemented in classrooms) to make the app more engaging and interactive for adolescents.
   2. Develop interactive challenges, quizzes and stories within the App to encourage sharing of thoughts and opinions. Girl Rising’s team can develop the content for all the activities.
   3. Implement a reward system to encourage continued participation in the App
5. Ensuring Inclusivity through Girl Rising’s Support
   1. Vernacular Language Integration is crucial to enable interaction between adolescents across the country.
   2. Potential for real-time translation can be explored.
   3. Ensuring the UI of the App is aligned with the aesthetic interests of the Target Audience
6. Testing and Quality Assurance
   1. Ensure there are data security measures in place to protect user information considering the users can be underage.
   2. Ensure compliance with all legal and privacy requirements as per the applicable laws.

Final Deliverable:

A fully operational mobile application with annual Application Management Services available for use, including maintenance and troubleshooting support for the first six months to ensure smooth functionality.

Timeline:

The project is expected to be completed in 3 months, with the initial prototype expected to be delivered within the first 2 months.

Budget:

Girl Rising is open to proposals that provide a competitive cost structure. Please include a detailed breakdown of development, testing, implementation and maintenance costs as part of your proposal.
