    Position Overview

    The Senior Director of the Talent Ecosystem at Baltimore's Promise will lead strategic efforts to strengthen the ecosystem that connects Baltimore's young adults to high-wage, high-demand careers. As a senior leader, this individual will oversee actions aligned with Baltimore's Promise 2030 Strategies, driving systems-level change while fostering collaboration with key partners across sectors.

    This role requires content leadership in post-secondary education, workforce systems, and talent pipelines, alongside the ability to develop innovative approaches that address systemic inequities. As a senior leader, the Senior Director will also contribute to organizational leadership, aligning teams, managing partnerships, and ensuring effective implementation of organizational priorities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Content Leadership

    • Lead the execution of 2030 Strategy 1: Strengthen the Talent Ecosystem.
      • Oversee the development and promotion of innovative post-secondary opportunities that prioritize holistic student success.
      • Use CareerBound as a central civic infrastructure to engage employers, anchor institutions, and implementers to create connected career pathways.
      • Drive initiatives to empower youth with leadership skills and sector-specific knowledge that accelerate economic self-sufficiency.
      • Align public and private investments, mapping the landscape of resources and addressing gaps within Baltimore's post-secondary ecosystem​.
    • Develop partnerships with education systems, employers, community organizations, and government agencies to improve access to and quality of career opportunities for Baltimore's youth.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert on workforce systems, youth employment, post-secondary education models, and wraparound supports.

    Organizational and Senior Leadership

    • Contribute to organizational visioning, strategy development, and goal alignment as a member of the senior leadership team.
    • Lead and manage a high-performing team focused on implementing Talent Ecosystem initiatives. Provide strategic direction, performance feedback, and professional development.
    • Collaborate with other senior leaders to integrate Talent Ecosystem efforts across Baltimore's Promise's broader strategy areas, including summer ecosystems, wraparound supports, data initiatives, and advocacy efforts.
    • Ensure effective resource allocation and program accountability, including developing budgets, overseeing investments, and reporting on key outcomes.
    • Represent Baltimore's Promise at local, state, and national levels as a thought leader in workforce development and post-secondary education systems.

    Systems Change and Innovation

    • Champion equity-driven strategies to address systemic barriers that prevent youth from achieving economic self-sufficiency.
    • Facilitate cross-sector collaboration, convening public and private stakeholders to align efforts and increase investments in workforce systems.
    • Develop and disseminate learnings, tools, and resources that highlight successful models and promote replication of best practices locally and nationally.
    • Advocate for policies and investments that strengthen workforce systems, ensuring alignment with the needs of Baltimore's youth

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in post-secondary education, workforce systems, talent pipeline development, or related fields.
    • 5+ years of leadership experience, including strategy development, team management, and organizational leadership.
    • Demonstrated expertise in systems-level thinking, ecosystem development, and cross-sector collaboration.
    • Strong understanding of the barriers facing historically marginalized youth and experience driving equity-focused strategies.
    • Proven success managing complex initiatives, including developing budgets, overseeing performance, and achieving measurable outcomes.
    • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience utilizing data to drive decision-making.

    Compensation and Benefits

    This position is classified as exempt and is not eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with the policies set forth by Baltimore’s Promise in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The annualized compensation for this position is $135,000. Please note that this compensation is firm. Baltimore’s Promise compensation ranges are determined by the responsibilities and level of authority required by each position as opposed to individual candidates’ qualifications or pedigree. This is an intentional attempt to mitigate pay inequities that are in part driven by systemic and implicit racism and gender bias impacting career trajectories and negotiation.

    This is a full-time position with full benefits, including CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield health insurance, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, paid parental leave, cellphone and mileage stipends, and support for professional development opportunities.

    Baltimore’s Promise provides a hybrid working environment that gives staff the flexibility to work remotely when not required for in-person meetings or tasks. Evening and weekend hours are required to support the organization's events and initiatives occasionally.

    Travel

    Travel around Baltimore City for in-person meetings and into the office for staff meetings is a regular occurrence. Travel includes national conferences, staff retreats, and meetings around the state.
