Human Resources Manager

The Alliance for Community Transformations is currently looking for a Human Resources Manager. The Alliance is a multi service non-profit located in Mariposa and Merced, CA. The Alliance provides services to children, youth, families, and adults in both communities. We operate two domestic violence shelters, a human trafficking shelter, a homeless shelter, a youth center, a family resource center, a Court Appointed Special Advocate program, violence prevention & response services, and an adult drop in center for recovery and support services. The Human Resources Manager acts as critical support to the hardworking teams who are champions and advocates for their communities across Merced and Mariposa Counties through these programs. The HR Manager’s essential duties include guiding Alliance staff through all stages of employment, ensuring all programs operate in accordance to local, state, and federal regulations, supporting employee wellness year-round, and create an agency culture in line with Alliance values of confidentiality & safety, equality & respect, empowerment, personal & professional responsibility, social change through education and advocacy, and sustaining ourselves & our communities.

Major Responsibilities of the HR Manager:

• Oversee employee orientations, onboarding and offboarding.
• Work with Program Director/Coordinator in Job Description creation and revision.
• Provide training and guidance to Program Directors/Coordinators in working with employees.
• Track staff evaluations. Sit in on employee evaluations when needed.
• Oversee benefits administration.
• Interpret Policies and Procedures for staff.
• Provide and track human resources trainings as needed.
• Provide required documentation to staff for job protected leaves of absence. Track leaves of absence and complete all necessary documentation.
• Initiate a staff wellness program.
• Maintain safety programs such as Illness Injury and Prevention Programs, compliance with CalOSHA, workers compensation safety trainings, etc.
• Supervise Alliance administrative assistant.
• Review salary surveys as needed and make recommendations for compensation program.
• Maintain company directory and organizational charts.
• Update policies and procedures when laws or best practices change.
• Participate in staff meetings as scheduled.
• Represent the Alliance in the community in a professional and competent manner.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's in human resource management or concentration in Human Resource Management preferred.
• Familiarity with employment law, including FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour laws.
• Two years’ experience working as an HR professional.
