SUMMARY: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, engagement and support of volunteers across multiple programs. Key responsibilities include managing volunteer communications, coordinating volunteer assignments and ensuring efficient operations of volunteer-driven initiatives. This role requires strong organizational, collaborative, and communication skills to maintain the success and smooth execution of volunteer programs.

Duties specific to the Volunteer Coordinator role:
Volunteer Recruitment:
- Recruit and onboard My PD Care Advocates, PMD Alliance Ambassadors, and other volunteers with a focus on diversifying representation, particularly from under-represented communities
- Strengthen engagement with Certified Parkinson's Disease Care™ Advocates by connecting them with opportunities to serve as Support group leaders or PMD Alliance ambassadors, encouraging increased involvement and impact
Volunteer Engagement and Support:
- Coordinate all aspects of My PD Care, including preparing and analyzing data reports, serving as the primary point of contact for My PD Care Champions, as well as onboarding, training and assisting with asset distribution
- Manage and steward current and new PMD Ambassadors, including coordinating Ambassador meeting logistics such as scheduling meeting calendar invites and managing Zoom links
- Manage ambassador recognition process, to ensure their contributions are appropriately acknowledged and celebrated.
- Manage the engagement of current and new YOPN (Young Onset Parkinson’s Network) Ambassadors, ensuring clear communication and active involvement
- Act as the primary point of contact of patient volunteers for programs such as ATMRD
- Work closely with the YOPN Manager to track volunteer hours and provide logistical support for YOPN-related activities
Program Analysis and Reporting:
- Design and implement a tool to monitor community interactions, prioritizing My PD Care activities while ensuring it supports tracking across all volunteer initiatives.
- Partner with AbbVie to assess the effectiveness of the My PD Care program and identify opportunities to promote and expand the initiative.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to compile and submit monthly My PD Care statistics, providing comprehensive updates on program engagement and impact
Volunteer and Program Operations:
- Monitor PMD Alliance social media forums and Facebook groups, providing guidance, support, and oversight to volunteers responsible for moderation. Coordinate and schedule video interviews with at least five My PD Care advocates to support AbbVie’s campaign raising awareness about off time.
- Facilitate connections between staff and ambassadors to enhance tabling event staffing and program promotion, driving the growth and impact of our initiatives.
- Create and manage ambassador and volunteer contracts within Salesforce, ensuring accurate preparation and timely execution.
- Coordinate and manage the administrative aspects of the Movement Disorders Fellows and Residents program, including applications, tracking participation, organizing meetings, sending calendar invites, and handling communications with participants
- Administer Fellow, Resident, and APP scholarships, under the direction of the Clinical Director
- Other duties as assigned
Minimal Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Strong technical proficiency and ability to work with various software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Critical thinking skills and ability to create efficient, user-centric processes
- Strong multitasking abilities in fast-paced, changing environments
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and team collaboration
- Exceptional integrity, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with remote work and telecommunication tools
- Experience communicating with high-value partners
- Background in supporting volunteers a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience in nonprofit settings
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and work with interdisciplinary teams
- Willing to travel (25% overnight travel required)
