    WHO WE ARE

TNTP brings research, policy, and consulting together to transform America’s public education system. We are a fully remote, national organization of over 600 full-time TNTPers with expertise from a variety of fields, united by the vision to change outcomes for all young people.

Working collaboratively, we dig into educators’ toughest challenges, and we provide actionable solutions grounded in evidence. This work takes place in schools and districts across the country, and our national position allows us to spot trends, collect and analyze data, and advocate for policy changes that introduce greater impact at scale. We work across sectors and partner with school systems to ensure that the 3.5 million young people who graduate high school every year have pathways to economic and social mobility.

    • Build and manage strong, collaborative relationships with leaders and staff, providing high-quality strategic counsel to shape their communications strategies to ensure they align with our org-wide goals.
    • Support media relations—fielding press inquiries and preparing staff for media interviews. This may include developing briefing documents, crafting pitches, and building/maintaining relationships with key media contacts and targets.
    • Support the development, distribution, and promotion of TNTP’s research and policy publications, implementing innovative strategies to increase TNTP’s relevance, visibility, and influence with new and existing audiences.
    • Collaborate with staff across the communications team and continuously evaluate which stories and communications strategies are most successful.
    • Project manage content creation, including direct management of vendors and external contractors.
    • Contribute to other projects across the team as necessary, including occasional writing, editing, and design support for various TNTP publications or client-facing materials.

    YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

    • Expertise in communications strategy with five+ years of experience in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field, with a strong track record of producing content that shapes conversations and cuts through the noise across both digital and traditional media platforms.
    • Exceptional writing, editing and communications skills, including a proven track record of writing effectively for different communications vehicles, formats and audiences, and the ability to simplify complex information into compelling and accessible messages and materials for a variety of audiences.
    • Portfolio of professional writing samples. We are looking for writing that demonstrates storytelling ability, showcases clear, vivid language, and conveys relevant, accessible messages to audiences.
    • A demonstrated commitment to equity-centered and asset-based communications. Experience working with or covering nonprofits, K-12 school systems, or government agencies preferred but not required.
