Summary: As a member of the prevention team, the Men’s Engagement Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting domestic violence prevention initiatives and executing the State Action Plan to Prevent Domestic Violence. This position involves planning and implementing activities that engage men as allies, including the Ten Men strategy—a statewide prevention initiative funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Additionally, the coordinator will provide support and technical assistance for the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) federal grant, funded through September 2025.
This role is dedicated to fostering and maintaining strong connections with Ten Men members and alumni, RICADV’s member agencies, organizational partners, and community groups. The coordinator will assist with strategies that enhance community involvement, such as outreach, training, events, and public awareness, with a focus on engaging men.
We encourage people with lived experience in addressing and challenging harmful masculinity norms and behaviors related to gender-based violence with their peers and communities to apply. Our ideal candidate is an individual who has experience fostering environments where men are actively engaged as allies in violence prevention efforts. The Men’s Engagement Coordinator works to advance men’s involvement in preventing violence for all people through gender norms transformation and engaging men and boys in gender-based violence advocacy efforts and movement building.
This is a full-time position based at RICADV's office in Warwick, Rhode Island. The organization operates on a hybrid schedule, with employees working both remotely and in the office each week. Additionally, all employees contribute to supporting the administrative assistant by answering calls to the office, which may include calls from victims and survivors of domestic violence.
