    What We Need

Cascade Bicycle Club is seeking to hire a Bicycle Fleet and Education Coordinator. The Bicycle Education Coordinator will serve this dynamic, well-established, and respected organization by demonstrating a passion for bicycling and for growing the influence and impact in pursuing the organization's mission.

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Bicycle Fleet and Education Coordinator contributes to the success of Cascade’s Education programs through careful maintenance of bicycles and equipment, delivery of bicycle fleets to schools throughout the Puget Sound region, and educator support in the classroom.

    Who We Are/What We Do

Cascade Bicycle Club, the nation's largest statewide bicycle nonprofit, is 55 years old and has a staff of 42 and 10,000 members. We serve bike riders of all ages and abilities throughout the state of Washington. We teach the joys of bicycling, advocate for safe places to ride, and produce community rides and events. Our signature programs include the Seattle to Portland ride, the Pedaling Relief Project, advocacy for connected trail networks and on-street bike networks in Seattle and across the Puget Sound Region, Your Streets Your Say, Free Group Rides, Adult Classes, Let's Go, and the Major Taylor Project.

Cascade’s sister organization Washington Bikes promotes the health, safety, environmental, and economic benefits of bicycling. WA Bikes advocates for people who bike, endorses political candidates, and holds elected officials accountable. We collaborate with community members and public officials to shape policies and investments in active transportation that create equitable, sustainable, and thriving communities across Washington state.

    DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The Education team shares the joy of cycling with learners of all ages. We are dedicated to creating, sharing, and improving programs that are inclusive, impactful, and responsive to our diverse community.

Let's Go introduces 3rd - 5th graders to the basics of riding and pedestrian safety. Through the Major Taylor Project, we strategically emphasize the transformative power of bicycling for Middle and High-Schoolers that have been historically marginalized due to systemic racial injustice and inequitable wealth distribution.

We strive to facilitate opportunities for students to become participants in communities of learning that foster empowerment and joy, where the bicycle is a tool for transformation. We commit to a spirit of continuous improvement in both our teaching practice and program development. We believe in the fundamental concept of inclusion and commit to serving all students well by making decisions that prioritize equitable access and support community goals.

    Our Values:

    • Equity - We lead with a racial equity lens to eliminate inequities in community health outcomes and in mobility and transportation access. Bicycles are a tool for liberation.
    • Climate Justice & Clean Air - Bicycles are a clean, healthy, and affordable solution to help solve the climate crisis, clean our air, reduce transportation pollution, and create sustainable communities.
    • Community We create opportunities for people to come together by removing barriers and fostering a sense of belonging. Bicycles are an integral part of creating connected, equitable and thriving communities.
    • Safety - Safety is a right; we champion spaces that foster physical and emotional wellbeing.
    • Collaboration - We share power, resources, and knowledge as a means to enrich lives and form mutually beneficial partnerships. We celebrate the existing strengths of our partners and participants and seek to be an accessible asset for others.
