    Overview

    We Are Better Together Warren Daniel Hairston Project, Inc. (WAB2G) is a non-profit organization. founded by Ruth Rollins in 2017, after the murder of her son Danny Hairston and the incarceration of her second son. WAB2G engages and empowers those on both sides of gun violence in the peacemaking process and brings together the community families on both sides of homicide and incarceration to foster healing and unity in the community.

    The Domestic Violence Case Manager Supervisor will oversee and support the delivery of trauma-informed services for survivors of domestic violence. This role involves guiding case managers, developing individualized safety plans, and ensuring participants have access to resources for long-term stability. The ideal candidate is an empathetic leader with experience in trauma-informed care, a strong understanding of housing challenges, and the ability to coordinate with various service providers. They will report to the Director of Programs.

    Responsibilities:

    Program Management

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of domestic violence services, ensuring that all interactions and interventions are trauma-informed and culturally sensitive.
    • Develop and implement service plans in collaboration with case managers to support participants in achieving safety and housing stability.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to review cases, discuss client progress, and ensure that goals align with organizational objectives.
    • Coordinate with the Program Director and compliance officers to maintain program records, monitor budgets, and ensure adherence to grant requirements.

    Case Management Oversight

    • Supervise and support case managers in providing direct services, including crisis intervention, emotional support, and advocacy.
    • Ensure quality and consistency in safety planning, case documentation, and resource allocation.
    • Facilitate connections to housing resources, mental health support, substance abuse counseling, legal aid, and other supportive services tailored to each client’s needs.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols for survivors transitioning into stable housing or during court proceedings.

    Advocacy and Outreach

    • Advocate on behalf of clients within the criminal justice system, housing authorities, and other relevant institutions.
    • Build and maintain a referral network with local agencies, legal advocates, and health providers to ensure clients’ comprehensive needs are met.
    • Collaborate with J4H’s housing navigation team to secure housing and promote long-term housing retention strategies for survivors.

    Training and Development

    • Provide trauma-informed training to staff, fostering an environment of mutual respect, agency, and cultural responsiveness.
    • Stay current on best practices in domestic violence intervention, trauma-informed care, and housing-first approaches to support ongoing staff development.
    • Facilitate workshops and support groups, using strengths-based methods to empower survivors and enhance life skills, such as financial literacy and job readiness.

    Essential Skills:

    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team and provide constructive feedback.
    • Excellent crisis management and de-escalation skills.
    • Proficiency in case management software, data reporting, and documentation standards.
    • Familiarity with federal, state, and local resources for survivors of domestic violence.
    • In-depth knowledge of trauma-informed care, domestic violence dynamics, housing support services, and culturally responsive practices.

    Experience & Education

    Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role working with domestic violence survivors, preferably in a community or housing support setting.
