Compensation: $72,000-87,500 (We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other. Founded in 1958 as a children’s reading group, East Harlem Tutorial Program (EHTP) has grown into a dynamic multi-site after-school program for students in traditional public schools and a network of public charter schools dedicated to dramatically increasing the college graduation rate in East Harlem. The Work and Why it Matters

The Manager, Development Operations is responsible for the efficient and accurate management of development operations, ensuring seamless financial reconciliation, gift processing, donor stewardship, and event coordination. This role supports individual and institutional giving efforts, manages donor data, oversees special events, and contributes to fundraising campaigns and communications. Additionally, this position will play a key role in launching and managing a corporate fundraising program, engaging businesses in philanthropic partnerships, sponsorships, and employee engagement initiatives.

• 3+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, or related field.
• Proficiency in donor database management (Raiser’s Edge NXT).
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in gift processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Experience supporting fundraising campaigns, donor communications, and special events.
• Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in corporate fundraising, sponsorship development, or business engagement is a plus but not required.
• Commitment to EHTP’s mission and values.
• Experience with grant writing and institutional giving support.
• Background in prospect research and donor cultivation.
• Knowledge of corporate philanthropy trends and best practices.
• Familiarity with social media marketing and digital fundraising strategies.

What You’ll Accomplish

Financial & Database Management

• Oversee accurate and timely gift processing, acknowledgment, and donor record maintenance.
• Reconcile all financial transactions with the Finance team and external accounting firm.
• Manage the donor database (Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or similar CRM), ensuring data integrity and reporting accuracy.
• Generate financial and donor reports for the leadership and development team.

Fundraising & Stewardship

• Support execution of direct mail and digital fundraising campaigns, including segmentation, tracking, and donor outreach.
• Assist in preparing the Annual Report, donor impact reports, and stewardship materials.
• Conduct prospect research.
• Provide administrative and strategic support for institutional giving, including grant tracking and reporting.

Events & Special Initiatives

• Coordinate logistics for two major fundraising events per year and several smaller targeted donor cultivation events.
• Work closely with vendors, sponsors, and volunteers to ensure successful event execution.
• Support post-event stewardship, donor follow-ups, and impact reporting.

Communications & Engagement

• Manage and update the organization’s social media channels in collaboration with the Communications team to amplify donor engagement and fundraising campaigns.
• Ensure consistent branding and messaging in donor-facing materials.
• Serve as a liaison between the Development team and external partners, including donors, vendors, and community stakeholders.
