Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA), an internationally recognized environmental advocacy nonprofit based in Boston, MA, is seeking a seasonal Fieldwork Coordinator to join our team from mid-April to mid-October 2025. In this temporary, part-time role (10-20 hours per week), the Fieldwork Coordinator will work with CRWA staff, interns, and volunteers to carry out fieldwork. This position will support CRWA’s River Science and River Restoration programs in various fieldwork activities including water sampling, invasive plant management, and volunteer event support. The ideal candidate will have experience working outdoors and with volunteers, and an interest in data management, data analysis, and science communications.
This in-person position is based in CRWA’s Newton, MA field office, with significant travel required in the watershed. Remote candidates will not be considered. The schedule for this position is Wednesdays, and Thursday and Friday mornings with additional weekend hours primarily in July and August.

This is a non-exempt, temporary, part-time position paid at an hourly rate of $22.48. The Fieldwork Coordinator will work 10-20 hours per week from mid-April to mid-October on Wednesdays, and Thursday and Friday mornings with additional weekend hours in the summer. Benefits provided include paid sick time, employer retirement plan contributions, and Employee Assistance Program. All work-related travel will be eligible for reimbursement.
