    Local Clean Energy Alliance (LCEA) is a Bay Area-based energy and social justice advocacy organization working at the local, state, and national level to promote a clean energy future through the development and democratization of local renewable energy resources. We seek an experienced Operations Manager, who is passionate about social justice, to help provide administrative, financial, and communication functions needed to support our organizing and policy work.

    The position requires 30 hours per week and pays a base salary of $35.00/hour plus benefits and could

    evolve to 40 hours per week. LCEA is based in downtown Oakland working in a collective team structure, virtually and in-person (hybrid) with supervisorial support by the Operations staff team and Executive Director.

    Key Responsibilities

    Organizational Management & Process Coordination

    • Ensure organizational processes remain efficient and on track to meet deliverables.
    • Maintain clear role accountability within the team
    • Develop tools such as templates (e.g., event planning templates) to support team operations.

    Financial Management

    Handle financial tasks, including:

    • Tracking income and expenditures.
    • Paying bills promptly.
    • Preparing financial reports and budgets.

    Data and Communications

    • Project management to ensure adherence to deadlines for newsletter and other communications. Ensure communications are sent out regularly.
    • Review and send email updates to LCEA subscribers, supporters, and stakeholders (approximately 1–3 email newsletters per month).
    • Utilize and maintain the donor management and communications platform, troubleshooting as necessary.
    • Provide occasional updates to the LCEA website, including refreshing content and troubleshooting as necessary.

    Committee & Meeting Coordination

    • Schedule and coordinate meetings for the organizational Support Committee, ensuring timely communication and efficient planning.
    • Prepare detailed meeting agendas, including clear objectives, discussion topics, and time allocations.
    • Document action items and assign responsibilities during meetings to ensure clarity and accountability.
    • Follow up on action items post-meeting to track progress and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.

    Office & Records Management

    • Perform general office management tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
    • Develop and maintain an organized, accessible system for storing files and documents, ensuring all records are accurate, up-to-date, and easy to retrieve.
    • Regularly audit online records to ensure alignment with organizational needs and compliance requirements.

    Administrative Support

    • Execute various internal communication and administrative tasks to support day-to-day operations.
    • Provide back end support like notetaking, document editing and organizing and fielding inquiries to staff, support committee or fiscal sponsor.

    Campaign Support

    • Assist with organizing and supporting campaigns as needed to achieve organizational goals, commitments and grant deliverables.
    • Occasionally attend meetings on behalf of LCEA and report back to the team.
    • Review drafts, edit and give feedback on organizational collateral.

    Work Environment

    • Operate within a flexible, hybrid work culture with both Zoom and in-person engagements.
    • Ability to complete tasks independently and report back to the team.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated operations experience a must.
    • A passion for social justice and the climate justice mission of the LCEA.
    • Good technical skills, including knowledge of Google documents, sheets, calendar and drive, databases, Zoom, donor management and communication software, financial software, and web content management systems (preferably Wordpress).
    • Responsible, very organized, detail-oriented, energetic, and creative!
    • Available 30 hours/week M-Th; preferred ability to start in March/April 2025.
    • Good written and verbal communication and people skills, in-person, online, and on the phone.
