    Position: Workforce Initiative Placement Coordinator

    Reports to: Workforce Training Initiative (WTI) Program Director

    Department: Programs

    Location: Los Angeles, CA. This is a hybrid position with some in-person work required. Applicants must live within a 30-mile radius of NCJWLA’s offices at Wilshire and Highland in mid-city Los Angeles and be able to get to our office or event locations with reliable transportation. Paid parking is provided for employees. (NCJW|LA reserves the right to return to full time in-office at any time.)

    Pay: $26.00-$29.50/Hour. This is non-exempt hourly and Hybrid position.

    Hours: Full-time, Mon – Thurs (8:30 am – 5:00 pm) and Friday (8:30 am- 3:30 pm), with a 37.5-hour work week, including some evening and weekend work.

    Position Objective: Workforce Initiative Placement Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing strategic outreach and engagement initiatives to connect with target populations and promote NCJWLA’s workforce development program. This role involves building strong relationships with community partners, employers, and educational institutions to create a robust network that supports individuals in their career development.

    General Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Workforce Initiative Placement Coordinator is primarily responsible for two key areas: 1) Recruiting and supporting community members with the process to start the workforce initiative and 2) implementing comprehensive employment services to assist program participants in securing and retaining employment.

    Community and Business Partnerships:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, businesses, and educational institutions that will both refer participants and hire participants who complete the workforce training program.
    • Implement comprehensive outreach strategies to attract and engage potential program participants.
    • Utilize various channels to disseminate information about program benefits, eligibility, and application processes.
    • Organize and execute community events, workshops, and information sessions.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and deliver presentations to students, employers, and community representatives.

    Program Development & Evaluation:

    • Collaborate with program staff to develop and implement job training, education, and career counseling programs that meet the needs of the target population.
    • Identify and address barriers to employment and develop strategies to overcome them, such as providing support services like transportation assistance, childcare, and job placement assistance.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach and engagement efforts, adjusting as needed to optimize impact.
    • Track and analyze key performance indicators, such as participant enrollment, job placement rates, and program completion rates.
    • Prepare regular reports on outreach and engagement activities, program outcomes, and partnership progress.
    • Ensure compliance with program guidelines, regulations, and reporting requirements.

    Client Management:

    • Deliver individualized coaching on job search, resume writing, interview techniques, and professional development, tailored to the skills and interests of program participants and alumni.
    • Identify and match participants with suitable job openings by leveraging strong relationships with employers and industry organizations.
    • Develop and implement work-based learning opportunities, such as job shadowing programs.
    • Conduct intake assessments to evaluate participants' needs, goals, and eligibility for program services.

    Ideal Candidate Qualities and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, public administration, or a related field.
    • Minimum 2 years of dedicated career coaching experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years combined experience in the following fields: community outreach, engagement, or workforce development, case management, or customer service supporting working women in Los Angeles
    • Experience working with diverse populations and building relationships with community partners.
    • Passion for helping individuals achieve their career goals.
    • Skill or interest in building capacity around three established priority skills in NCJW|LA Program Department: 1) creative solutions, 2) kind, client-centered decision-making, and 3) finding a system that works for individual employees.
    • Resourceful, motivated self-starter who can manage time well and work autonomously with high self-accountability.
    • High emotional intelligence (EQ) crucial for building respectful and effective relationships with participants.
    • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of issues affecting women in Los Angeles and the impact on their well-being.
    • Strong communication and organization skills (open, honest, humble). We value solution-oriented feedback and problem-solving.

    Other Requirements:

    • Must possess a valid Driver's License
    • Have reliable transportation
    • Clear background check
    • Strong administrative skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word. Internet savvy is required.
    • Smartphone compatible with work-related apps. A phone stipend is provided.
    • Physical requirements: The job frequently requires sitting for extended periods of time, must have the ability to lift to 30 lbs.
