Job Title: Adult Education Instructor & Case Manager

Reports to: Director of Education

FLSA Status: Exempt

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Education, the Adult Education Instructor & Case Manager will lead classroom-based training for job readiness, industry credentialing and computer instruction. The Adult Education Instructor & Case Manager will also provide case management services to assigned caseload.

Specific responsibilities of the Adult Education Instructor & Case Manager include:

• Recruit and screen clients for class and program fit
• Provide workforce development, industry credentialing and computer instruction to clients enrolled in classroom-based training
• Develop curriculum in conjunction with the Director of Education to meet employment, training, and program goals
• Assess the skill and education levels of clients through self-directed tools and various standardized tests
• Cultivate and maintain resources in the community that will benefit clients
• Develop and execute individualized service plans tailored to address clients' unique barriers to sustaining employment and housing while ensuring alignment with their skills, strengths, and long-term career objectives
• Provide job-placement assistance
• Enter client data into the computer tracking system
• Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director or designee

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• One or more years of teaching experience and strong classroom management skills required
• Advanced computer literacy and technology skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Workspace applications
• Familiarity with the barriers associated with individuals experiencing homelessness, returning to the community from incarceration, and experiencing substance use disorders.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

• Typical office environment
• Ability to work onsite at Project Place daily with the potential for assigned remote workdays dependent on department needs
• Ability to use public transit and agency-provided ride share service to travel to community partner locations
• Frequent sitting
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to use a computer • Ability to reach, grasp, and walk frequently
