    Location: (Currently Remote) New York Tri-State Area or Los Angeles, CA

    Salary: $110,000/yr. - $130,000/yr. Commensurate with experience

    Grameen America is building on our proven record of scale and has embarked on a five-year campaign to realize our bold ten-year goals, providing opportunities for economic mobility for more than 750,000 women and their families. Through the Women Are Limitless campaign, Grameen America will raise $600 million, through a combination of $300 million in philanthropy and $300 million in debt capital, to meet the urgent need for affordable capital and demand for Grameen America’s program across existing and new geographies. This is an opportunity to join a high performing Development team dedicated to increasing its philanthropic revenue goals to achieve that vision.

    The Opportunity

    Grameen America is at a pivotal moment as an organization, having launched a 5-year strategic plan with bold 10-year goals to create breakout scale and impact in low-income communities across the United States. The Director of Development will work closely with the VP of Development and Marketing as part of the Development Leadership Team to help lead the organization’s fundraising efforts to advance its mission and core strategic goals. Reporting to the VP of Development and Marketing, the Director will lead the strategy to grow increased and sustainable revenue streams, with a focus on major gifts from national, regional and local foundations providing catalytic support to the organization. The Director will strengthen our internal fundraising capacity, expanding upon our existing revenue partnerships, and growing our donor base.

    • Serve as a member of the development leadership team designing and implementing our strategy to achieve success on our bold fundraising goals to support the organization’s 5-year plan and 10-year goals for breakout growth and impact.
    • Develop the overarching foundation revenue growth strategy, securing funds from national, regional, local and family foundations with focus on major gifts.
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to execute strategies to secure funding from foundation Donor Advised Funds.
    • Manage a team to execute donor engagement strategies and tactics, from pipeline development to cultivation, stewardship and renewal, that result in meeting our short- and long-term philanthropic fundraising goals.
    • Oversee relationships with key strategic foundation partnerships providing catalytic support to the organization.
    • Establish, monitor, and meet short-term and long-term revenue goals.
    • Partner cross-departmentally to ensure that fundraising and member engagement strategies are aligned with program activities and events.
    • Competency with donor database systems, data management, revenue tracking and analysis, and reporting practices

    Candidate Profile, Skills and Requirements

    • Dynamic, goal-oriented leader with management and team building experience.
    • Successful track record expanding donor base, increasing revenue, and securing major gifts from national, regional, local and family foundations.
    • Experience working with foundations to secure gifts from Donor Advised Funds.
    • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft detailed and compelling proposals, budgets and reports to secure and renew funding.
    • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skills; ability to represent Grameen America in a professional, engaging manner.
    • Knowledge of the women’s philanthropy space; understanding of and experience with how institutional philanthropy, family offices and foundations and high-net worth donors and can be influenced and stewarded.
    • Well-developed organizational skills with very strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
    • Passion and commitment to Grameen America’s mission and vision.
    • A cover letter must be included in the application to be considered for the role.
    • 6+ years of experience in development (with experience beyond institutional giving a plus)
    • Spanish language skills a plus
    • Living in the New York Tri-State Area or Los Angeles Area is required
