    The Center for Teen Empowerment (TE)‘s mission is to employ, train, and empower youth to, in collaboration with adults, create peace, equity, and justice. TE is a critically conscious youth development organization that believes that young people are critical assets to creating positive change in their own lives and their communities. Through a unique asset-based youth organizing program implemented in Boston and Somerville, MA, and Rochester, NY, TE employs youth ages 14-21 to identify the most pressing issues in their community and develop a strategy to address those issues. Using TE’s interactive model, the project builds the leadership skills of youth and trains them to do the planning and problem solving necessary to implement their strategic plans and make real, meaningful changes in their communities.

    The Executive Assistant assists Teen Empowerment’s CEO, including maintaining calendars and communication, helping to coordinate board of directors activities, and assisting with publications, volunteer management, and the planning and execution of special events. The Executive Assistant will work as part of the TE’s administrative team to create and maintain a favorable public image and smooth operations.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Coordinate scheduling, correspondence, meetings and calendar management for the CEO
    • Support communication and information exchange between CEO, staff, TE’s Board of Directors and external partners.
    • Attend meetings and take and disseminate minutes and maintain records.
    • Assist with special events including fundraisers, youth conferences, workshops and trainings.
    • Recruit and manage volunteers in coordination with the needs of program and administrative directors.
    • Assist with database management
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience and/or 10 years of experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Expertise with technology including Google Suite and Microsoft Office.. Experience with CRM and database management and desktop publishing are strongly preferred.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills including demonstrated experience with reports, business correspondence, and procedural documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from diverse individuals of all ages.
    • Ability to build positive and collaborative partnerships with youth and adults.
    • Self-motivated, able to work independently and take initiative and also to participate productively in a team and with diverse community stakeholders
    • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
    • Commitment to Teen Empowerment’s mission and values.

    Salary: $65,000-$75,000 commensurate with experience and hours. This is a full-time, 40-hour-a-week salaried position with excellent benefits and generous time off. Some evenings and weekends required.
