    Compliance Manager

The Compliance Manager furthers our mission through the development and implementation of quality control procedures that ensure compliance with state, federal, and program requirements; and assists in training program staff on rules and regulations.

    Wage starts between $54,000 and $61,000 per year depending on equivalent qualifications. Interested applicants must submit a resume and cover letter; applications will be accepted until the position is filled. CORI/MVR.

    The candidate may work in a hybrid-remote manner. Living within easily commutable distance is required.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Oversee internal audit processes in accordance with policy to ensure compliance with state, federal, and program requirements
    • Ensure contract and code compliance related to all leased facilities in collaboration with program directors
    • Maintain database and systems to track performance and findings; report to management team and funding sources when applicable
    • Submit required information to funding sources in a timely manner; resolve discrepancies as necessary
    • Educate and advise staff on policies, procedures, regulations, and community and landlord concerns and issues
    • Educate and advise landlords when necessary on policies, procedures, and regulations
    • Assist in the development, implementation, and facilitation of recurring trainings and/or action plans to meet program objectives
    • Respond efficiently and accurately to requests for information from auditors, internal departments, and/or funding sources
    • Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure proper, compliant turnover of all leased units; maintain accurate, updated files including renewals, terminations, and new leases
    • Coordinate with landlords and program staff to ensure that habitability checklists are completed in timely manner
    • Oversee the shelter bed registry as required by the state
    • Liaise with other housing or social service agencies when necessary
    • Coordinate monthly quality assurance meetings to identify best practices, common errors, and training opportunities
    • Oversee the successful administration of assigned state benefit program(s), including serving as backup support as needed
    • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal staff, owners, landlords, and funding sources
    • Remain current with developing trends in homelessness prevention and related areas
    • Assist in the research and resolution of software issues and run reports as needed
    • Proactively identify and inform management/leadership of any issues that may adversely affect the department or organization
    • Provide on-call services as required

    Supervisory responsibilities include:

    • Ensure new employees are trained in accordance with training plans for new staff members and that existing employees are provided with refreshers and receive retraining when there are performance concerns; evaluate and make process improvements based on feedback
    • Evaluate and provide timely feedback to staff on performance-related matters; assess staff members’ strengths and developmental needs; implement performance plans to ensure the development and/or maintenance of necessary skills
    • Hire new/replacement staff in an efficient and equitable manner, following recruiting process guidelines
    • Those directly supervised include compliance specialists and other program staff

    Requirements include:

    • 3 years' progressively responsible equivalent experience in housing, social services, or a related role; a combination of experience plus an Associate degree may be a substitute
    • 1 year in a supervisory or lead position
    • Comprehensive knowledge of housing assistance related regulations and policies
    • Advanced ability with Microsoft Office, and comfort learning new technologies
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively train and impart knowledge in classroom and mentoring environments
    • Demonstrated ability to create and manipulate reports and software programs in a Windows environment
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work with diverse populations
    • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; reliable vehicle
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred, but not required
