    Job Title: Communications and Digital Manager

    Reports to: Chief Communications Officer

    Start Date: ASAP

    Salary range: $75,000-$100,000

    Location: Remote with occasional in-person time

    ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:

    Greenlight America is building a scalable, nationwide model for engaging and mobilizing local residents in support of clean energy projects. We aspire to be the leading grassroots campaign force powering the clean energy transition in terms of steel in the ground, with the result that more clean power projects win local siting and permitting approval more quickly, contributing to an overall environment where the U.S. exceeds our clean energy generation and transmission goals for the next decade.

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Communications Manager plays a central role in Greenlight’s communications and campaign work, with an important voice in shaping the strategic direction of Greenlight’s communications, messaging, and content production strategy on the campaigns to which they are assigned. A successful candidate for this position will be a skilled writer with the demonstrated capacity to produce quality work on deadline. They will also have the ability to get up to speed quickly on complex topics, be highly creative and willing to take risks, and exhibit strong skills in project management. The position is remote and reports to the Chief Communications Officer.

    PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Serve as the primary digital/comms campaigner on assigned campaigns, working hand-in-hand with the regional campaign managers (likely in the Southern US) to set and execute campaign comms strategy.
    • Produce content in support of assigned clean energy siting campaigns, including but not limited to: talking points, fact sheets, letters to the editors, op-eds, digital content, social media posts, one-pagers, and presentations.
    • Serve as the Comms’ team’s primary press strategist, consulting on local clean energy campaigns and executing Greenlight’s organizational public relations strategy.

    EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Key Qualifications

    We are especially interested in candidates with the following qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience developing content and/or messaging on deadline. Strong candidates for this role may also have backgrounds in community organizing, campaigning, clean energy development, or similar.
    • Public relations/press strategy experience, particularly on local advocacy campaigns.
    • Strong research and written communications skills.
    • Passion for accelerating the clean energy transition.
    • Candidates in Eastern or Central time zones preferred.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

    The base annual salary for this position is $75,000-$100,000. We offer an excellent benefits package which includes 100% employer paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited paid time off, monthly technology stipend, and retirement contributions through 401k and Roth plans.
