Pennsylvania Interfaith Impact Network (PIIN) is a faith-based community organization building power within and among congregations, organizations, and individuals in Southwestern Pennsylvania. PIIN is committed to building people of faith into a diverse base that acts powerfully on local, regional, statewide or national issues of justice and fairness in our region. This happens through the disciplines of community organizing and leadership development, direct action, and negotiation with decision makers.
PIIN is a member of the Gamaliel Network, which resources, trains, and consults with its member organizations across the country. The PIIN organizer position is full time and some training and oversight will happen in conjunction with Gamaliel.
The organizer’s purpose is to build power through the development of leaders across PIIN’s base, particularly within each congregation, equipping them to act on issues of congregational self-interest as well as shared interest across the PIIN organization. To do this, the organizer will take an active role in fundraising, in empowering PIIN’s base to discern issues for public action, and in planning and executing public action campaigns with those leaders. The organizer will assist in recruiting new congregations/organizations, and training new leaders.
Compensation
Salary compensation will be based upon experience and education in the field.
Work Schedule
This is a salaried position. Work schedule is flexible and will include weekends and evenings as needed. The position will at times require more than 40 hours in a given week.
The Organizer shall measure their success by tracking in writing, for PIIN’s review upon request, the following metrics:
Reimbursement for Permitted Expenses – In addition to annual salary/benefits compensation, the Organizer may receive reimbursement for out-of-pocket program expenses upon presentation of receipts to PIIN, which may include transportation costs, training and education fees, and program expenses such as food and space rentals.
