    Descrição

The Friends of CASA, Inc. seeks a Long-Term Contract Development Manager to manage fundraising campaigns, donor relationships and communications, and major and planned gifts. There are great opportunities to grow funds and expand the impact of The Friends of Alameda County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Inc. to provide more services and support to CASA volunteers and foster youth in Alameda County. We have an exciting opportunity to partner with the right development expert to achieve these bold goals.

    About CASA

Alameda County CASA (ACCASA) is a member of the National CASA/GAL Association and is one of 939 local programs nationwide, and a member of the California CASA Association’s state network of local programs. ACCASA is jointly overseen by the Alameda County Health, the CASA Executive Director, and the Alameda County Superior Court’s Presiding Juvenile Court Judge. The Friends of Alameda County CASA, Inc. is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization made up of local community members who raise public awareness and funds to support ACCASA’s work.

CASA’s model is powered by a robust volunteer base, both as youth advocates and board members. Each year, 300 volunteers serve as advocates to foster youth. At the leadership level, the Friends of Alameda County CASA board is actively involved in fundraising, and the Philanthropy Committee meets monthly to plan and execute donor events and engagement.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist executive director and grants management team by leveraging messaging and communication, including e-newsletters, with current and prospective funders to achieve the bold fundraising goal from the current $200,000 to $1M by 2029 defined by the 5-year Strategic Growth Plan.
    • Manage the major gifts program. Create and coordinate major donor meetings, prepare staff and board members for meetings, conduct donor research, and implement Moves Management through individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies, correspondence, stewardship activity, tracking, and reporting.
    • Develop and execute annual campaigns, including mail appeals and electronic communications to engage donors at all levels using email, social media, AI, and peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
    • Ensure successful donor stewardship, including calls, notes, and ongoing engagement by the board. Develop templates for donor letters and outreach, and coordinate with staff to make sure timely, personalized acknowledgements are sent.
    • Develop and maintain a prospect pipeline, building prospects at all donor levels (including former CASA volunteers and individuals who express interest in becoming a CASA volunteer, but do not complete the process), former board members, wealth screening, and community partners. Gather prospect research as appropriate.
    • Prepare reports and priorities for discussion at the monthly philanthropy committee meeting, and meet with and work closely with the philanthropy chair. Communicate with and engage the board of directors on matters related to fundraising, especially major donor and cultivation events.
    • Provide oversight of the CRM database, ensuring best practices in data entry and monthly reporting, and appropriate data management.
    • Create and launch a legacy/planned giving program.
    • In conjunction with the executive director and board committee, coordinate and execute on all elements of fundraising events and donor cultivation events.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Interest in foster youth and child welfare programming in Alameda County and support the ACCASA mission
    • Experience with all aspects of the donor cycle (identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship)
    • Ability to work collaboratively, professionally and effectively with board members, staff and community leaders
    • Skilled facilitator of meetings and track record of engaging board in peer-to-peer fundraising
    • Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to write and speak clearly, and create scripts to help others feel ease in speaking with donors
