    Description

    Qualifications:

    • A degree or 5+ years of professional experience in the human services field, ideally with adults with intellectual disabilities.
    • Creative problem solver with honed organization and demonstrated logistical coordination skills.
    • Experience in planning and managing self and others, including reprioritizing workloads to address emergent needs while maintaining progress toward long-term priorities.
    • Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, regulations and practices relevant to disability services and systems, including Medicaid, Medicare, licensing, human rights, HIPAA, DC’s Department on Disability Services, Arlington County and Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain Certified Investigator status, serve as on-call Incident Management Coordinator and Emergency Line holder.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team by establishing and maintaining trusting relationships with a wide variety of people.
    • Motivated to integrate in service provision the philosophy and values expressed in L’Arche’s Identity and Mission Statement.
    • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Quality Improvement Oversight

    • Develop, implement, and monitor L’Arche’s Quality Improvement Plan, in collaboration with the Director of Human Services and Advocacy.
    • Communicate on an on-going basis with leadership on findings and other issues important to the quality of care and service provision.
    • Supervise the Quality Assurance Coordinator.
    • Navigate, monitor, and attend to relevant information in applicable electronic systems, including Therap, VA DBHDS CONNECT, DC Health Portal, DC MCIS, and VA CHRIS.

    Compliance Management

    • Create and implement preparation plan and lead responses for audits, reviews, and inspections by governmental agencies. Facilitate external audits, reviews, and inspections, and coordinate L’Arche staff participation.
    • Develop and oversee corrective action plans in response to findings, in collaboration with Program Coordinators and the Director of Human Services and Advocacy
    • Develop and implement systems for periodic internal evaluations of compliance with government regulatory standards.
    • Collaborate with Training Coordinator and Service Team Leaders to ensure training supports compliance standards and quality improvement.

    Risk Management

    • Implement and refine L’Arche’s integrated system-wide risk management program to ensure the safety of individuals, employees, visitors, and others through identification, mitigation, early detection, monitoring, evaluation, and control of risks.
    • Maintain risk management training, including understanding of individual risk screenings, conducting investigations, root cause analysis, and the use of data to identify risk patterns and trends.
    • Implement and refine quality improvement policies and procedures, such as those related to risk management, incident management, and service quality.
    • Oversee incident reporting, quarterly trending and tracking reports, internal investigations, and root cause analyses.
    • Implement and refine Incident Management protocols, including ensuring staff compliance and training.
    • Oversee compliance with the physical site and fire safety of all service locations.
    • Participate in the on-call rotation serving the 24/7 emergency lines for VA and DC homes.
    • As delegated, coordinate the activities of L’Arche’s Human Rights Committee.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
