    Are you a passionate and results-driven fundraiser looking to make a lasting impact? Join the Boston Arts Academy Foundation (BAAF) as a Major Gifts Officer and help secure the funding necessary to empower the next generation of artists at one of Boston’s premier institutions for arts education. Report to and collaborate with the President and CEO.

    • Professional Development: This role offers professional growth in a supportive environment, working closely with the President and CEO to develop and execute fundraising strategies. You will be part of a high-performing, collaborative team, expanding your network and developing your skills in major gift fundraising.
    • Autonomy and Reward: Manage a portfolio of 200 high-net-worth donors and prospects, this role empowers you to directly impact the financial health of the Academy. You will enjoy the freedom to craft personalized engagement strategies and see the results of your efforts come to life in the form of increased support for both the Academy and your professional growth.

    Key Responsibilities:

      • Portfolio Management: Oversee a portfolio of 200 prospects and donors, driving the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship processes to achieve an annual revenue target of $1 million.
      • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, personal relationships with high-net-worth individuals, C-suite executives, and influential stakeholders through regular, tailored communication, in-person visits, phone calls, and personalized engagement opportunities.
      • Strategic Engagement: Conduct 15-20 donor visits per month, ensuring timely follow-ups and personalized contact, supported by detailed reports and updates in the Raiser’s Edge database.
      • Research and Analysis: Continuously research and identify potential prospects, building a new pipeline of funders, using existing relationships and data to enhance engagement strategies and fundraising efforts.
      • Event Participation: Plan, attend, and lead donor cultivation events to further strengthen relationships and increase engagement with key donors.
      • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Marketing & Communications, to create impactful donor stories and enhance visibility, fostering a deeper connection with donors.

    Qualifications:

      • Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years in one-to-one direct solicitation fundraising, with a proven record of securing significant five, six, and seven-figure gifts.
      • Donor Relationship Management: Expertise in building, maintaining, and nurturing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and C-suite leaders, with the ability to craft compelling asks that align with their philanthropic goals.
      • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including the capacity to engage high-level stakeholders and influence decision-makers effectively.
      • Deadline-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive fundraising targets, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results within set timelines.

    Through strategic relationship management, the individual will ensure that major donors feel valued and connected, leading to sustained and increased financial support for the Academy’s mission. The majority of this person’s time (75%) will be focused on raising funds through one’s 200-person portfolio. The remaining time (25%) will be focused on research and building a pipeline of new supporters.
