    Description

You: You have had extensive experience raising money for political campaigns or political parties. You got into the field because you were convinced you could do good. You believe in democracy, and believe democracy can do good.

But you are no longer convinced that your work is doing good. You hear, for example, Senator Sanders complain that Vice President Harris didn’t address “working-class issues” in her campaign; you wonder, how could she, when she was raising so much money from SuperPACs and the ultra-wealthy?

So now, you’d like to explore something different: Raising money to help end the corrupting influence of money in politics.

Us: We are a democracy reform organization, driving a campaign to do just that: To end the corrupting influence of money in politics.

We are working to help drive litigation to defend Maine’s recent anti-SuperPAC initiative. We were responsible for raising the +$1M that got that initiative on the ballot, and helping to pass the initiative (with more than 70% support). We believe that initiative could end SuperPACs in America. We need to recruit a fundraiser to help support that litigation, and to help build and fund a campaign to recruit the wide range of Americans who agree with us (and you?) — that money has corrupted American politics, that the gold raised for even progressive causes functions more like golden handcuffs.

We are looking for a person to initially build and execute the fundraising campaign, and possibly to transition to CEO of the organization generally.

If this is of interest, send adam@equalcitizens.us a paragraph or two explaining why, and introducing your experience, and anything you believe we should know about you. Include a resume.
