Street Level Health Project is an Oakland-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of underserved, urban, immigrant communities in the Bay Area. Street Level is "a safety net of the safety net." It serves as a point of entry to accessing health and other services for those most often overlooked and neglected, namely the uninsured, underinsured, low-wage workers, and the recently arrived.
About the Oakland Workers’ Collective:
The Immigrant Rights and Empowerment (IRE) program houses the Oakland Workers’ Collective (OWC), which works primarily with day laborers and leads our advocacy efforts to effect systems change at the local and state levels. The OWC is a worker-driven collective committed to economic self-sufficiency by using a popular education model to inform workers about their rights, create a safe space for skill building, and support in connecting with employers. Role Summary:
The OWC Day Laborer Employment Advocate will collaborate with the IRE Program Manager to connect employers with OWC members; conduct job intakes; as well as outreach to potential employers which can include: door-to-door leafleting, community events, and other strategies to increase job opportunities for workers. The coordinator will also be responsible for supporting the creation and vision of alternatives for day laborers who previously looked for work on street corners to find work in a more safe, dignified, and organized environment.

Salary and Benefits: This position is full time at a base rate of $25/hr - $27/hr. Street Level Health Project provides full Benefits (medical, dental, vision, vacation, paid one-week spring/summer break, paid 10-day winter break, and sick leave).
