    Job Summary: Roles and Responsibilities

    The Adamah on Campus Midwest Coordinator will work with the Adamah Campus Manager to support and grow Adamah on Campus in the Midwest through chapter expansion, regional programming, immersive experiences, and more. “Midwest” for this position refers primarily, but not comprehensively to: Michigan (Detroit), Illinois (Chicago), Ohio (Cleveland, Cincinnati), Wisconsin (Madison, Milwaukee), Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh), and Missouri (St. Louis). This person will also work with the Adamah Detroit Hub team and the National Adamah on Campus team, both situated within the National Programs Division.

    Adamah on Campus Chapter Recruitment, Coordination and Support (40%)

    • Facilitate the creation of new Adamah campus chapters in the Midwest.
    • Implement clear recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support processes with campus chapters.
    • Organize and facilitate meetings with campus professionals and interested students, both virtual and in-person, as needed.
    • Support existing chapters. This includes regular meetings, emails, reminders about forms, sharing resources, and more.
    • Create a cohort experience for the campus chapters in this region. This may include bi-weekly calls, bonding excursions, occasional gatherings, resource sharing, highlighting local speakers, etc.
    • Support monthly calls for all campus leaders, which include welcoming and onboarding new leaders and creating a space for bonding and learning.
    • Track, update, and analyze chapter data (programs, members, etc.) using Salesforce and other data management tools.

    Adamah on Campus Regional Events and Immersive Experiences (30%)

    • Host two regional events per semester focused on Jewish environmental education and action to engage both Adamah campus chapters and grow the Midwest Adamah on Campus community and network.
    • Take lead on planning and coordinating a Midwest Regional Adamah on Campus immersive retreat. In doing so, work with staff, students, and partners to plan, including travel coordination, schedule, programming, logistics, and student support and culture.
    • Support and promote regional programming, such as community events by the Adamah Detroit team.
    • Support the planning and implementation of national, in person Adamah on Campus retreats/conferences throughout the year.
    • Support the planning and logistics for Alternative Spring Break trips as applicable in partnership with Hillel and other organizations.

    National Adamah on Campus Systems and Support (20%)

    • Support Adamah on Campus national needs. May include data entry, maintenance and analysis, developing new or revising content, collaboration with partners, speaking arrangements, strategic planning and visioning, logistics, comms and marketing, etc.
    • Promote Adamah’s Shamati Initiative and other opportunities for Jewish professionals working with college students.
    • Grow Hillel membership in Adamah’s Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition, support the outreach, planning, and follow up from the Coalition’s Hillel Community of Practice.
    • Promote Adamah’s Green Business Network, Peoplehood and Planethood initiatives, and retreat center programming when appropriate.

    Administration (20%)

    • Maintain organizational systems, including resources, documents, Salesforce, forms, spreadsheets.
    • Manage allotted budget and spending.
    • Support the development of grant proposals and reports by sharing metrics, narrative, photos, and testimonials.
    • Collaborate with other colleagues and team members, especially across the National Programs Division, such as those in the Adamah Detroit Hubs, the Jewish Youth Climate Movement (JYCM), and the Climate Action team.
    • Submit graphic requests, newsletter submissions, and other comms and marketing needs.
    • Center equity and inclusion (E&I) in all work.
    • Attend weekly meetings with supervisor, monthly all-staff meetings, weekly Adamah on Campus Team Meetings, weekly Youth Empowerment department meetings, Chapter Leaders' meetings, and other meetings as needed.
    • Table at conferences or other gatherings
    • Other duties/tasks as assigned.

    Desired Skills

    The ideal candidate for the Adamah on Campus Midwest Coordinator position will possess the following skills and experiences:

    • At least two years of prior work experience for similar/related roles.
    • Strong background in community organizing.
    • Strong background in Jewish communal engagement.
    • Familiarity with environmental language, including climate justice frameworks, and sustainability initiatives.
    • Strong organizational and time management and project management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Able to adapt to changing situations.
    • Comfortable working virtually and coordinating in
    • person events.
    • Event / retreat planning and coordination experience.
    • Experience in Salesforce or a similar CRM system is preferred but not required (you will be trained to use Salesforce as an important part of this position).

    Working Conditions

    • This is a full-time position, primarily remote, with frequent travel around the Midwest and potential other domestic travel.
    • Strong preference for someone who lives in Detroit, or who is willing able to travel to Detroit and nearby areas at least once a month.
    • The salary for this position is $55,000.
    • Regular evening and occasional weekend work should be expected.
    • You will be eligible for health benefits effective 30 days after the start date at the start of the following month. You will also attend an online Benefits Orientation meeting via Zoom before then. We will send a Benefits Guide booklet to you separately via email with our current benefit offerings.
