    The Grants Accounting Manager will play a key role in securing and managing grant funding to support the Shriver Center’s mission. This position is responsible for grant writing, financial tracking, compliance reporting, and impact measurement to ensure transparency and accountability to funders. Working closely with Program Directors, the Grants Accounting Manager will craft compelling proposals, track spending, and report on the effectiveness of awarded funds. This role sits at the intersection of program impact and financial stewardship, ensuring that grant funds are maximized and aligned with organizational goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    Grant Writing & Proposal Development

      • Collaborate with Program Directors and leadership to develop persuasive grant proposals that align with funding priorities.
      • Research and analyze funding opportunities to identify new potential grantors.
      • Develop budgets and financial projections for grant applications in partnership with the finance team.

    Grant Financial Management & Compliance

      • Track the release of grant funds and monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with grant agreements.
      • Maintain detailed financial records and documentation for grant-related transactions.
      • Ensure compliance with grant terms, reporting deadlines, and financial guidelines.

    Grant Reporting & Impact Measurement

      • Prepare and submit timely financial and narrative reports to funders, detailing grant expenditures and program outcomes.
      • Work with Program Directors to measure and document the impact of funded programs.
      • Analyze and interpret grant data to assess performance and identify trends.

    Collaboration & Internal Support

      • Serve as a liaison between program teams, finance, and development to streamline grant-related processes.
      • Provide technical assistance to staff with grant financial management and reporting requirements.
      • Support annual audits and funder reviews by preparing the necessary documentation.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or a related field required.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant accounting, nonprofit finance, or grant writing.
    • Strong understanding of nonprofit financial management, grant compliance, and reporting requirements.
    • Excellent writing skills with experience in grant administration, including drafting grant proposals and reports.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and grant management systems.
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
    • Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment and understanding how different forms of oppression operate on interpersonal, institutional, and structural levels.
    • Commitment to the mission of the Shriver Center on Poverty Law.
