    Building on the foundation of more than 35 years of building brighter futures for families facing homelessness, Family Promise of Union County, an Affiliate of the Family Promise National Network, exists to end homelessness, one family at a time, through a community approach to provide prevention services and emergency shelter/basic needs to families with children who are experiencing homeless and to provide additional programs to assist them in finding housing and sustaining their independence. This moment in the organization’s history calls for an inspirational leader with a deep passion for ending family homelessness, a vision for driving sustainable growth and impact, an aptitude for fundraising and a commitment to collaborative, agile, performance and mission-driving leadership.

    The next Executive Director will lead Family Promise of Union County into a new era of growth and evolution. Responsible for implementing the strategic goals and objectives of the organization, the Executive Director will provide leadership toward the achievement of the organization’s mission, growth and development. The Executive Director will excel at maintaining positive relations with partner entities, stakeholders, donors, and board members. Simultaneously, the Executive Director will have great business acumen, an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for our mission, and a strong belief that homelessness can be rare, brief, and non-reoccurring.

    About you: You have Executive leadership experience, including managing operations, finance, programming, and fundraising. You’re an excellent communicator and have outstanding organizational, analytical, prioritization, judgment, and problem-solving skills. You enjoy coaching and mentoring team members and are passionate about creating a dynamic, healthy culture where everyone thrives. You can see – or better yet, design - the big picture and think strategically, but you’re patient and practical about details and boots-on-the-ground operations.

    The Executive Director’s Contributions to the Organization's Success:

    Leadership and Management

    • Provide leadership, inspiration, vision, and implementation of the strategic plan for the organization to all staff, volunteers, guests, Congregational partners, and donors.
    • Drive strong and successful culture throughout the organization.
    • Develop, maintain, and support a strong board of directors.
    • Committed to ensuring equitable, inclusive, culturally competent, and trauma informed services and staff environment.

    Financial Management and Community Relations

    • Oversee all fiscal management of the organization, including investments, assets, audits and financial reports, and general accounting functions.
    • Manage community relations and strategic partnerships as well as all PR and marketing for the organization to maintain FPUC’s image and brand in the community
    • Responsible for all aspects of Funds Development to achieve revenue goals for the organization including grant writing, annual campaign management, major donor development, sustainability planning, campaign management and strategic corporate relations.

    Program and Services

    • Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, program management, delivery and evaluation elements to ensure best practices are deployed and community and individual guest needs are being met with compassion, efficiency, impact and sustainability.
    • Support lived experience voice in helping to influence program growth and evolution.
    • Deliver services that are trauma informed and strengths based.
    • Lead strategic community engagements with local municipalities, coordinating bodies, and strategic community initiatives regarding housing

    The Ideal candidate will be / have:

    • Master’s degree in business, non-profit administration, public administration (or equivalent work experience) required.
    • Minimum 5 years prior organizational level executive leadership experience required.
    • Outstanding organizational, analytical, prioritization, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong skills in financial strategy and management.
    • Excellence in managing strategic relationships and experience in managing the political environment and interests of the broader community.
    • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
    • Past success working with a board of directors with the ability to cultivate board member relationships Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
    • Is action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, innovative, self-directed, and possesses a positive attitude.
    • Is committed to the organization’s mission.
    • Comfortable working in a faith-based environment
