Program Description: Goddard Riverside Community Center (GRCC) is a leading Manhattan community-based agency with an annual operating budget of $30 million. Star Learning Center, a program of GRCC, provides year-round tutoring and educational advocacy to underserved students from across the city. Each tutor is matched one-to-one with a student in grades 2-12. Tutors, students, and their families work closely with Star staff to meet student needs. Star staff also connect students with other GRCC programs and outside resources to enable them to reach their full potential.
Position Summary: Star Learning Center is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented and committed individual to implement and oversee all aspects of its tutor recruitment and engagement work. The individual will also be responsible for understanding student academic and social-emotional needs to ensure the quality of student-tutor matches. The candidate will work closely with other Goddard youth programs, Development and a range of community partners to strengthen all aspects of the Star program. A successful Coordinator will need to possess exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, and to thrive within a close-knit and diverse community of volunteer tutors, students, parents and staff.
Schedule: Monday through Friday (Mon 11am-7pm, Tue & Wed 10:30am-6:30pm, Thurs & Fri 10am-6pm)
Salary Range: $50,251.98 to $54,886.87
Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.
