    Purpose: To coordinate All Brains Belong’s “Kid Connections” project

    Job Overview:

    The Kid Connections Program Coordinator will manage and oversee All Brains Belong's free friend-matching program, designed to create meaningful connections for lonely children age 4-17, both locally in Vermont and virtually for participants located across the country and internationally. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role involves working independently to develop programming, handle communication with caregivers and volunteers, and coordinate activities to foster rich, supportive relationships. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, problem-solving skills, and an ability to work autonomously while aligning with ABB's mission and values. This position has the capacity to expand into supporting ABB’s additional community programs.

    Mission

    Founded in November 2021, All Brains Belong VT (ABB) is a 501(c)(3) organization in Montpelier. ABB provides medical care, community, education and employment support programs to support the health and belonging of people with all types of brains.

    Essential functions

    • Coordinate all aspects of Kid Connections program, including matching and introducing participants, checking in with participants at predetermined intervals, collecting qualitative and quantitative feedback, marketing to recruit additional participants
    • Act as the primary point of contact for families, volunteers, participants, and community partners, initiating and responding to emails and inquiries in a timely, thoughtful, and independent manner.
    • Develop creative solutions and programming ideas to support program goals, using independent judgment, research, and available tools (including AI where appropriate) to brainstorm new approaches.
    • Collaborate with ABB staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure high-quality, inclusive programming that meets the needs of neurodivergent children.
    • Use technology (e.g., Google Suite products, spreadsheets, AI tools) to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and improve program outcomes.
    • Manage Google Sheets to track participants throughout each stage of the program
    • Run Mail merges in Google Sheets: new participant matches each quarter; follow-up emails monthly; feedback and data collection quarterly
    • Provide regular updates on program progress, outcomes, and challenges, demonstrating proactive problem-solving without relying on constant supervisor input.
    • Lead initiatives to continuously improve the participant experience by soliciting and acting on feedback from families and volunteers.
    • Engage with families from our organization’s medical practice by e-mail, phone, and/or Zoom to onboard and integrate into ABB’s community programs, including but not limited to Kid Connections
    • Attend weekly staff meeting and share list of unmatched participants to facilitate connections within our community; attend additional meetings and build relationships with community partners
    • Utilize Discord server to communicate with staff and community members
    • Represent the program in discussions with the media
    • Navigate conflicts and [negative feedback] from program participants’ families without close supervision

    Required Skills

    • Read and accurately transcribe patient and participant data
    • Access others’ written language and independently compose written language, with or without assistive technology.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to independently draft thoughtful, accurate responses and content for stakeholders.
    • Adapt communication (tone, word choice, length of conversational turns) to be understood by varying audiences, with diverse abilities, ages, cultures, and roles - this includes our patients, community partners, program participants and their families
    • Record one’s own notes and prepare one’s own visual supports for auditory instructions, with or without assistive technology.
    • Exercise judgment and impulse control in the setting of navigating stressful situations
    • Coordinate multiple ongoing activities and shift between tasks and web browser windows.
    • Independently ideate and initiate new tasks, and work without close supervision
    • Manage one’s time by day, by week, and by month to complete required tasks within the budgeted amount of time
    • Ability to manage large influxes of program applicants following All Brains Belong events, podcast and other media opportunities
    • Communicate with the media in a way that reflects well on All Brains Belong
    • Accurately calculate time zones across the world, with or without technological aids, given the global reach of this program.
    • Independently ideate and implement strategies for marketing the program
    • Independently create and implement social media promotional content for the program

    Minimum qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a professional environment
    • Intermediate proficiency with Google Sheets and Google Forms
    • Strong track record of problem-solving and decision-making without requiring oversight or guidance.
    • Experience using technology and AI tools to improve program operations and increase efficiency.
    • Experience fielding questions from the general public
    • Experience creating inclusive environments for children and youth who learn, think, and/or communicate differently

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Experience working in a healthcare setting or another field requiring HIPAA compliance
    • Experience working with social media as a content creator (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube)

    Work Environment: This position is primarily remote with frequent in-person events required (at least monthly). On-site workspace may be available on occasion. The ideal candidate will thrive in a flexible, collaborative, innovative nonprofit setting. While working remotely, the candidate is required to work in a private, non-shared, secure space with non-shared, secure Internet connection to maintain HIPAA compliance.

    Compensation

    This is a $22-25 per hour position for 5 hours per week. Pay periods are the 1st/15th of every month. Benefits include remote work and flexible scheduling. This role does not have additional benefits associated with it.
