    The Congregation of St. Joseph at La Grange Park Center offers a peaceful and caring work environment. We are looking for an experienced, skilled, collaborative, kind and attentive Center Administrator to join our team. This is a full-time, salaried, onsite position.

    The Administrator works with the Coordinator of Community Life to promote a safe, healthy living and working environment that provides a vibrant quality of life for residents and a welcoming environment for guests, ministries, etc. With appreciation for the unique lens and culture of religious life, the Administrator oversees the operation of the entire facility and the staff who provide services to resident. Working collaboratively with the Coordinator of Community Life and various department heads, the Administrator models the values of CSJ Initiatives of compassion, respect and integrity.

    Essential Functions:

    Included here is a partial list of essential functions.

    • Oversees all activity of staff providing services to Center residents and ensures full implementation of CSJ Initiative’s system-wide policies and procedures.
    • Implements a philosophy of healthy aging in all practices of the Center.
    • Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the Center’s operations. These operations include the implementation of philosophy, policies and procedures, the organization and administration of employees and the development of operating and capital budgets especially regarding staffing levels and maintenance projects.
    • Meets individually with department heads to supervise the planning, budgeting and ongoing activities of that department.
    • In conjunction with the Director of Human Resources, oversees the selection, employment, orientation (including education regarding the Charism, Mission and Generous Promises of the Congregation), development, control, and discharge of operations employees.
    • Promotes education of and integration of Mission, Charism, Generous Promises of the Congregation for employees and is responsible for promoting their integration into the various systems of the Center.
    • Prepares and facilitates the annual reviews of direct reports. Provides feedback and input regarding the reviews of Congregational or CSJ Initiatives staff supporting the Center (Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, etc.). As requested, contributes to the annual evaluation of those employees who are supervised by the Congregational Leadership Team and/or members of CSJ Initiatives Directors.
    • Coordinates and supports center hospitality and the use of the Center facilities by Sisters and COSJ ministries, to include coordinating room and space scheduling and readiness, dietary support, etc.
    • In collaboration with others, is responsible for emergency plans and procedures (i.e. severe weather, fire), location specific safety programs and training, and the management of various insurance and risk issues.
    • Develops and monitors the Center budget in consultation with the Coordinator of Community Life and finance office, and recommends the Center budget to the CSJ Initiatives Director of Operations.
    • Works with CSJ Initiatives Director of Operations regarding capital expenditures on campus and decisions regarding off-campus properties in collaboration with the Sisters who live in these residences.
    • Initiates and facilitates local environmental initiatives in collaboration with the Congregation Sustainability Committee.
    • Supports the process, implementation, and integration of various CSJ Initiatives and Congregational initiatives, and brings a willingness to be flexible and to lead in a time of transition.
    • Additional responsibilities and duties as required.

    Desired Skills & Experience:

    Included here is a partial list of desired skills and experience.

    • Senior operations experience in a residential assisted living setting or related environment, preferably one that is licensed by the state.
    • Bachelor’s degree with 3 or more years of successful general management or facilities management experience, including direct supervision of staff representing multiple disciplines.
    • Successful experience with Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) licensed facility compliance and audits, or similar.
    • A willingness to learn and appreciate the CSJ Mission and Charism, including an understanding of religious life, faith beliefs and spiritual practices supportive to the life of women religious. Must be able to incorporate the CSJ Mission and Charism into day-to-day operations.
    • Ability to work in a collaborative, flexible and shared responsibility environment.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking skills.
    • Proven record of effective analysis and sound decision-making skills.
    • Technical proficiency for the use of computers and software.
    • Ability to develop, understand and audit budgets and other financial reports.

    Physical Environment:

    • Standard office environment.
    • Assisted living facility.
    • Occasional interstate travel.
