    The Town of Chatham is seeking a dedicated, innovative, and highly skilled leader to serve as our Coastal Resilience Director in the Department of Natural Resources.

    Under the direction of the Director of Natural Resources, the Coastal Resilience Director will oversee the management of the Town’s shoreline, waterways, and coastal infrastructure with a focus on sustainability and resilience. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans, securing funding for coastal projects, coordinating dredging and shoreline stabilization efforts, and ensuring public access and environmental preservation.

    The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, coastal engineering, or a related field, along with five years of progressively responsible experience in coastal and marine infrastructure management. A Master’s degree is preferred. Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills are essential.

    This is a benefits and pension-eligible position, with a starting annual salary of $92,518.40 - $96,241.60 (biweekly $3,558.40 - $3,701.60; FLSA- Exempt/Salaried 40 hours per week with the expectation of evening meetings and requirements outside of standard hours of business). The position is covered under the Chatham Municipal Employees Association.
