The Philadelphia Housing Authority, America's fourth largest public housing authority and leader in real estate development and property management, is seeking a Manager – Fire Safety Compliance.
Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Manager – Fire Safety Compliance manages the Fire Safety Program for Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) and Philadelphia Asset and Property Management Corporation (PAPMC) properties, through supervision of the fire safety crew and management of contractors related to the maintenance and installation of all fire safety equipment. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring compliance with all fire and life safety codes, and that staff are appropriately trained and relevant information is disseminated in a timely fashion. Significant independent action and judgment are required subject to PHA wide policies. Performs other related duties.
Salary Range: $72,000 - $77,135 annually
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience.
Three (3) Years of related experience, such as a firefighter with on-the-job-training in inspections or investigations or as a fire safety technician.
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Engineering or Chemistry is preferred.

Ability to physically perform duties that require concentrated mental and visual attention along with coordination manual dexterity approximately 66% or more of the workday with regular exposure to elements such as but not limited to smoke, fumes, dust, heat, cold and unfavorable weather conditions. Performs frequent physical activities such as stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, crouching, reaching above shoulder level, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequently lifts objects weighing up to 50lbs
