    Descrição

Colorado Village Collaborative (CVC) is seeking their next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). CVC exists to bridge the gap between the streets (homelessness) and stable housing by creating and operating transformational housing communities. CVC delivers innovative and effective solutions to homelessness: shelter that centers human dignity, empowerment of marginalized voices, and design solutions that are affordable, sustainable, and community oriented. Recognizing that traditional shelter settings may be challenging for individuals who have experienced prolonged homelessness, CVC emphasizes the importance of providing environments that prioritize autonomy and balance shelter with supportive services. Through shelter solutions that were created in partnership with people experiencing homelessness, including Micro-Communities, Tiny Home Villages, and Safe Outdoor Spaces, CVC continues to demonstrate their commitment to innovation and is poised to serve more people experiencing unsheltered homelessness in Denver and beyond.

The next CEO will join an organization of approximately 65 dedicated staff members, and report to the Board of Directors. They will be responsible for leading, growing, and developing CVC in accordance with the strategic plan. Based in Denver, Colorado, the salary range for the next CEO is expected to be within $130,000 - $150,000+ plus a generous benefits package including: 401k matching, 100% employer paid health, dental, and vision care; three weeks of PTO, holiday pay, and two months of paid parental leave.

OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES FACING THE CEO

The Chief Executive Officer is joining CVC after a period of significant growth. In recent years, the staff has nearly doubled in size, and there is renewed enthusiasm for their mission, including from the Denver Mayor’s Office, a key partner in their efforts across the city and county of Denver. In partnership with other leaders and key staff, the opportunity for the next CEO will include:

    Organizational Leadership, Development, and Culture

    • Drive the organization towards its goals through strategic planning and strategic initiatives.
    • Provide executive leadership for the CVC in ways that support the organization’s values and vision.
    • Create a positive, collective culture where all voices are valued and respected, and team members support one another in reaching individual and organizational goals.
    • Directly supervise the Development and Communications Director (DCD), the Chief Operating Officer (COO), and the Business Administrator (subject to change based on organizational growth).
    • Provide indirect supervision of all employees through the CEO’s direct reports.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, follow through, and ongoing staff education and development.
    • Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout the organization.

Board of Directors and Strategic Planning

    • Keep the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan up to date in partnership with the Board.
    • Communicate effectively with the Board, providing timely and accurate information necessary for the Board to fulfill its governance responsibilities including its making of informed decisions.
    • Support the Directors by effectively implementing Board-adopted policies.
    • Serve as the main point of connection between the Board and the staff.
    • Work with the Board of Directors to recruit and orient diverse, talented new Board members.
    • Educate and on-board new Board members in partnership with the Board Chair and Officers.
    • Collaborate with the Board in their efforts to grow and develop Board systems, officers, committees, governance, and decision-making processes in partnership with the Board Chair.
    • Provide the Board with updates on progress toward implementation of the strategic plan including any budget changes needed to execute the plan.

    Financial Health and Well-Being

    • Develop and implement a strategy to deliver long-term financial health for the organization.
    • Develop and oversee the budget in partnership with the Business Administrator and Finance Committee of the Board.
    • Be responsible for the fiscal integrity of the organization including submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements that accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
    • Take responsibility for fiscal management that ensures maximum resource utilization and maintains the organization in a positive financial position.
    • Work in partnership with key leaders to establish a clear and executable fundraising strategy.
    • Oversee implementation of fundraising strategy.
    • Support fundraising events, donor engagement, grant and contract development.
    • Grow the organization’s balance sheet, cash reserves, and unrestricted dollars.
    • Oversee the annual financial audit.

    Project Development

    • Work with stakeholders and partners in the community to identify potential new projects and evaluate their ability to advance CVC’s mission.
    • Establish a strategy for developing, seeking Board approval, and implementing new projects.

    Strategic Partnerships and Collaboration

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including government officials, elected leaders, businesses, Registered Neighborhood Organizations, advocacy groups, foundations and other funders, educational institutions, faith communities, housing developers, landowners, and homelessness service providers.
    • Maintain a strong CVC centered relationship with the City of Denver in our contracted services.
    • Oversee development of contracts with partners and delivery of agreed-upon services.

    • Oversee the development and implementation of the marketing and communications strategy.
    • Serve as official spokesperson for the organization at public events and in written and media communications.

    Policy and Advocacy

    • Advocate for the expansion of housing, housing rights and support services for people experiencing homelessness in metro Denver and across the state.
    • Work with community-based organizations, government officials, and elected leaders to promote and establish policies that advance the mission and vision of CVC.
