    We are currently in search of a Institutional Fundraising Manager for a Civil Rights Nonprofit. The position is Hybrid in Washington, DC. This is a full-time, permanent position.

    POSITION TITLE: Institutional Fundraising Manager

    DURATION: Permanent

    SALARY: $80k-90k/year

    Is This Your Dream Job? The Institutional Fundraising Manager will report directly to and work closely with the Director of Development to lead all work related to foundation funding at the Washington Lawyers’ Committee. Key responsibilities include relationship management, planning and implementing stewardship activities, donor research, and managing reporting for foundation giving. Must be capable of both in-person and remote work. This position is permanent, with an anticipated salary of $80-90k.

    Our Ideal Candidate:

    • 4-6 years of nonprofit grant writing experience.
    • Experienced with program restricted grants.
    • Experience writing 6 to 7-figure grants.
    • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential institutional funders.

    How You Will Spend Your Day:

    Grants Program Management

    • Develop and manage a comprehensive grants program to meet annual funding goals.
    • Set measurable goals for submissions, awards, and dollars raised.
    • Maintain a calendar for timely submission of proposals, inquiries, and reports.
    • Tailor solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship strategies for each funding entity.
    • Support data management, collection, reporting, and program evaluation within the organization.
    • Keep the Director of Development updated on all upcoming applications and reports.

    Grant Prospecting and Writing

    • Research and maintain a robust pipeline of local, regional, and national grant opportunities.
    • Evaluate funding opportunities and lead teams in developing concepts for new projects.
    • Write competitive grant proposals, concept papers, and reports, ensuring high-quality, error-free writing.

    Stewardship

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential institutional funders.
    • Monitor grant-funded projects for successful implementation and compliance with contract terms.
    • Work with program staff to track and report on grant progress, ensuring timely data collection for reports

    Development Operations

    • Organize files and documents for easy access and reporting.
    • Manage grants in Raiser’s Edge to track opportunities and tasks.
    • Provide accurate and timely documentation of grants income for financial reporting.
