    The Director of Institutional Relations is responsible for securing funding from public, corporate, and private institutional sources to support ECS programs. This role oversees volunteer and community engagement, supervises key staff, manages external grant vendors, and supports major gifts activities. The ideal candidate will have strong fundraising experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Secure funding from public, corporate and private institutional sources to support new and existing ECS programs
    • Supervises Associate Director of Institutional Giving
    • Supervises Grants and Contracts Project Coordinator
    • Directly manages external grant opportunity vendors
    • Oversight of volunteer and community engagement.
    • Supports all major gifts activities

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s (minimum) or Master’s (preferred) degree
    • At least five years of professional fundraising experience including at least two years of institutional funding experience in the non-profit social services field
    • Excellent written, oral communication and analytical skills
    • Strong organizational skills, project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage deadlines
    • Strong staff management skills
    • Familiarity with budgeting and program evaluation protocols
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Raiser’s Edge
    • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and dependability.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
    • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a variety of stakeholders.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to apply best practices through ongoing professional development opportunities.
    • Ability to function as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
    • Ability to take ownership and manage multiple projects simultaneously with robust organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently with limited to no supervision.
    • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks.
    • Ability to represent ECS effectively in a variety of settings and with diverse communities.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
