    Job Title: Executive Director

    Location: Central Valley Regional Center, Fresno, CA

    Reports to: Board of Directors

    Status: Full-Time

    Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this role is $201,528 - $240,635, depending on experience and qualifications, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

    Position Summary:

    The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive officer for the Central Valley Regional Center, overseeing the center's operations, programs, fiscal health, and strategic direction. The ED will work in close partnership with the Board of Directors (BOD) and staff to ensure that the regional center fulfills its mission to support individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, in accordance with the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and all relevant state and federal regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Leadership& Strategic Direction:
      • Provide visionary leadership, fostering a positive, collaborative, and inclusive organizational culture.
      • Work with the BOD to define and implement the center’s long-term goals and strategies, aligning operations with the mission and vision.
      • Lead strategic planning efforts, assessing and addressing the changing needs of individuals served by the center and staff.
      • Communicate and represent the regional center’s mission and values to all stakeholders, including clients, families, community partners, and government agencies.
    2. Operations Management:
      • Oversee all day-to-day operations of the regional center, ensuring the provision of high-quality services.
      • Develop and manage the center’s operational budgets, ensuring financial sustainability while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
      • Ensure compliance with all state and federal requirements related to the provision of developmental disability services, including those set forth by DDS and the policies of the BOD.
      • Supervise, mentor, and develop a diverse leadership team of staff, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
    3. Fiscal & Resource Management:
      • Ensure the financial health of the regional center by overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation.
      • Pursue and secure funding opportunities, including grants and donations, to support the center's services and initiatives.
      • Monitor and report on the center’s financial performance to the BOD, ensuring transparency and accountability.
    4. Board Relations &Governance:
      • Serve as the primary liaison between the BOD and the leadership team.
      • Provide regular updates on program activities, financial status, and strategic initiatives to the BOD.
      • Support the Board in its governance responsibilities, ensuring compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
    5. Community & Public Relations:
      • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regional center organizations, community organizations, service providers, advocacy groups, individuals served, and/or their families. Represent the regional center in meetings, conferences, and public forums, advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities.
      • Develop and implement public relations strategies to increase awareness of the center’s services and impact.
    6. Program Development & Quality Assurance:
      • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services that meet the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
      • Ensure continuous improvement by monitoring the quality of services, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
    7. Advocacy & Policy Engagement:
      • Stay informed about local, state, and national policies related to developmental disabilities.
      • Advocate for policies and practices that promote the inclusion, independence, and quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities.
      • Represent the center in advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels.

    Qualifications:

    • Education:
      • Master’s degree in human services field, public policy, administration, or related field.
      • Relevant certifications or training in nonprofit management or developmental disabilities services is a plus.
    • Experience:
      • A minimum of 10 years of experience in high level supervisory or administrative senior leadership roles, preferably in the developmental disabilities field or related social services sectors.
      • Proven experience managing complex operations, including financial management, program development, and staff leadership.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of California’s developmental disabilities system, including familiarity with DDS regulations.
    • Skills:
      • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate and support staff, individuals served, and external stakeholders.
      • Ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
      • Strong understanding of budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in nonprofit or government-funded settings.
      • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.

    Work Environment:

    • Full-time position based in Fresno, California. Travel will be required for meetings, conferences, and site visits. This role will include sedentary work, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use.
