    Description

    Reporting to a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will be making an impact on what really matters: enabling schools and education nonprofits to deliver on their missions through diversified revenue.

    In this role, we are seeking experienced grant writers to work on a team of grant experts supporting up to 15 schools and nonprofit partners. As a member of one of our grants teams, you will write grant proposals, reports, prepare budgets, build pipelines, conduct prospect research, and develop strategies to sustain and scale our partners’ grant revenue.

    What You Will Accomplish

    • Project and Partner Management (10%)
      • Manage a portfolio of 3-5 Partners, ensuring projects are well-planned and executed efficiently.
      • Attend regular partner meetings to build relationships and gather necessary information.
      • Utilize Monday.com, project management software, to track opportunities and project plans.
      • Work collaboratively and support other members of the FundEd team on joint projects.
      • Leverage tools and technology, such as AI, to augment your work and efficiency.
      • Build and maintain strong, supportive, responsive and trusting relationships with partners, through project management and coordination, meeting or beating all deadlines for partner deliverables, and ensuring that all budgets and other documentation are prepared along with the proposal, as required by the potential funder.
    • Identify and Research Funding Opportunities (15%)
      • Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
      • Evaluate the suitability of grant opportunities in alignment with each partner’s mission and goals.
      • Produce detailed research summaries and strategies to viably secure funding from prospective funders.
    • Write and Manage Grants (60%)
      • Draft boilerplate and case statement language to improve grant writing success and outcomes.
      • Plan, draft, edit, and submit 7-9 written deliverables (LOI, grants proposals, reports, and concept papers) each month.
      • Assemble information from disparate sources and conduct independent research as needed.
      • Coordinate government, foundation, and corporate grant logistics.
    • Develop and Lead Strategy (15%)
      • Develop and oversee action plans that drive fundraising results.
      • Lead grant strategy sessions to ensure alignment with our partners’ missions and long-term funding goals.
      • Track and measure grant program performance including win rates, funds raised, etc.

    Experience You May Bring

    • Work experience in public or private sector education as a grant writer, fundraising consultant, leader, administrator, or teacher.
    • 3-4 years experience working in or with nonprofit organizations or public charter schools as a grant writer, grants manager or researcher.
    • Experience working directly with stakeholders, providing customer service or supporting clients.
    • Knowledge of Washington, D.C., New Orleans, Texas, Colorado, New York or Indianapolis funding landscapes a plus.
    • Charter school, private school, or K12 education nonprofit fundraising experience, preferred.

    Benefits

    This is a full-time, completely remote position. Some travel for conferences and at least one annual team retreat may be required. Applicants should generally be available to meet with clients during standard East Coast business hours. As a Grant Writer, you will receive a total rewards package that includes an annual salary, bonus opportunities, healthcare reimbursement, tech stipends, and opportunities to leverage philanthropy. More specifically, FundEd will offer the following benefits:

    Compensation

    • Salary. The full-time annual starting salary for this position is between $55,000 - $60,000. Due to our commitment to internal parity within each position and across the company, we make our best and final offer when we make an offer. We do not negotiate salaries.
    • Bonus Eligibility. Employees are eligible for annual bonuses.
    • Tech Stipend. Employees will receive a monthly technology stipend to pay for cell phone, internet, and office supplies, such as additional monitors, bluetooth accessories. Etc.
    • 401K. The company automatically contributes 3% of the employee's salary to a qualified retirement account.

    Health and Wellness

    • Paid Time Off. 15 days (accrued from first day of employment; available for use after 90 days). Additional paid time off is provided for bereavement, jury duty, and parental duties.
    • 24 Paid Days Off Annually. 10 Federal holidays; plus ten days during the office closure in the last two weeks of the calendar year; one day for the day after Thanksgiving; plus three additional floating holidays to be used at employee discretion (some restrictions may apply).
