Resilience, Inc. also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, and overall well-being.

Our mission is to teach SEL at every school in the country. It is a tough challenge, but we know “No Challenge, No Change.” If you are also concerned about children’s mental health and social being, join us! Become a member of Resilience, Inc, and help change the way schools approach mental health.

Resilience offers volunteer programs that require at least a 4 month commitment with a minimum of 5 hours per week. There are flexible start and end dates with the option to continue after meeting the minimum requirement

As an Comic writer volunteer you will play a vital role in creating and expanding upon existing comic book storylines that aim to enhance children's social and emotional learning on topics such as bullying, motivation, confidence, and more. Your responsibilities will include conducting subject matter research, maintaining continuity, and collaborating with the Comics Team to develop engaging and authentic comic book narratives. This volunteer program offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful storytelling while gaining valuable experience in the comic book industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Develop compelling comic scripts and storyboards for 30-second video content that effectively communicates key messages, themes, and emotions related to mental health, SEL, and resilience.

    - Collaborate with the content team, graphic designers, and video editors to bring comic scripts to life through visual storytelling, animation, and voiceover narration.

    - Incorporate humor, creativity, and relatable characters into comic narratives to engage viewers and encourage meaningful conversations about mental health and well-being.

    - Adapt comic storytelling techniques and formats to suit the short-form video medium, considering pacing, visual gags, and punchlines for maximum impact within a 30-second timeframe.

     - Ensure that comic scripts are aligned with Resilience, Inc.'s brand identity, messaging, and educational goals, maintaining sensitivity to diverse audiences and cultural contexts.

    Requirements:

    - Proven experience as a comic writer, preferably with experience in creating content for video formats.

    - Strong storytelling, scripting, and dialogue writing skills with a knack for creating engaging characters and narratives.

    - Creative mindset, imagination, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to bring comic concepts to life in video format.

     - Familiarity with Tik Tok, storyboarding tools, and animation techniques.

    - Passion for mental health advocacy, social impact, and using comic storytelling as a tool for positive change.

The volunteer program offers valuable learning opportunities, mentorship, and the chance to contribute to impactful comic book storytelling for children's social and emotional learning. After the interview, please send your portfolio of work to the recruiting@mylearningtools.org email account for review by the manager of the Comics Team.
